BMCC Women in Computing

The BMCC ACM-W Women in Computing chapter at the CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College Computer Programming Club aims to support, celebrate, and advocate for women in all aspects of the computing field, providing a wide range of programs and services to ACM members and working in the larger community to advance the contributions of technical women. Our chapter focuses on fostering mentorship between peers, professors, alumnae, and industry. Events include Career Panel/workshops/competitions. 

ACM-W was one of the first groups to be established dedicated to promoting the advancement of women in computing professions. ACM-W advocates internationally for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field, providing a wide range of programs and services to ACM members and working in the larger community to advance the contributions of technical women. ACM-W is a part of ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery. ACM is the world's largest educational and scientific computing society. It delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. Chapters are the "local neighborhoods" of ACM. Professional and Student chapters worldwide serve as nodes of activity for ACM members and the computing community at large, offering seminars, lectures, and the opportunity to meet peers and experts in many fields of interest.
