Summer is all about being light, refreshed, and ready for anything. But as the temperatures rise, the last thing I want is to be weighed down by a heavy bag. I’ve learned that carrying a massive collection of products is just unnecessary "mental torture."
Instead, I’ve mastered the art of the "Miniature Edit." I prioritize buying smaller, travel-sized items so I can have everything I need without the extra bulk. If you want to keep your bag light and your glow on point, here is exactly what I’m carrying this season.
1. Fragrance Duos: Ted Baker & Gucci
Why settle for one scent when you can have options? I carry two small, travel-sized perfumes: Ted Baker Rose & Orchid for a classic, floral mood, and Flora by Gucci for when I want something a bit more sophisticated. Because they are compact, they take up zero space but keep me smelling fresh all day.
2. My Korean Skincare Secret: Medicube Cologne Cream
I never leave home without a small, refilled bottle of my Medicube Korean Cologne Cream. It’s the ultimate multi-tasker for keeping my skin feeling hydrated and smelling amazing while on the go. Refilling a small container is my favorite way to keep my essentials accessible without carrying full-sized bottles.
3. Lip Care & Hydration: Plouise Lip Conditioner
Summer heat is brutal on the lips. I keep my Plouise lip conditioner handy at all times. It’s the perfect non-sticky solution to prevent chapped, dry lips when I’m out in the sun.
4. The Quick Refresh: Vitamin C Wipes or Facial Mist
For those long, hot days, Vitamin C wipes are my go-to. They are perfect for a midday refresh—they brighten the skin and wipe away any summer grime without needing a full cleanse. Or a quick spritz of facial mist is my secret to instant rejuvenation; it cools the skin and sets your makeup, making it the perfect midday pick-me-up.
5. Essential Hand Cream
Between sun exposure and frequent hand-washing, a lightweight hand cream is non-negotiable. I keep a travel-sized tube in my bag to ensure my hands stay soft and smooth without feeling greasy or heavy.
6. Sunscreen: I always carry a small bottle of SPF 50 sunscreen to ensure I stay protected from sun damage while out and about.
7. Hair care
Summer hair needs a little extra love to combat frizz from the heat. A travel-sized hair smoothing serum or a light texturizing spray is a total lifesaver. As well as hair clip and a brush.
Or you can simply get travel - size hydration sets that are amazing, one of my favourite is e.l.f.
Why "Downsizing" Works
By choosing miniatures and multi-purpose items, I’ve stopped the struggle of carrying an overstuffed bag. It’s a small change, but it makes every summer outing feel so much lighter. It’s all about focusing on quality over quantity—exactly how I simplified my 20-year skincare journey.
