BlurCam – Background Blur (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it.
1. Overview
BlurCam – Background Blur is a photo and camera editing app that helps users blur backgrounds, blur selected areas, edit backgrounds, and save edited images.
The App may access device features such as the camera, photos/media, local storage, and internet connection in order to provide its core functionality.
The App may display advertisements through Google AdMob.
The App does not require users to create an account.
2. Information and Permissions We Use
The App may use the following permissions and device capabilities:
• Camera
Used to capture photos and provide camera preview, live preview, tap-to-focus, flash, and background blur features.
• Photos / Media
Used to let you select images from your device and save edited results. Depending on your Android version, the App may use the system photo picker or media permissions.
• Storage / Media Storage
Used to save edited images to your device’s gallery or media storage system.
• Internet
Used for essential app services such as Google Play Billing, purchase verification, restoring purchases, Google AdMob advertisements, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, diagnostics, and app stability monitoring.
• Advertising ID
The App may use the Android Advertising ID where available for advertising, ad measurement, fraud prevention, frequency capping, and ad personalization where permitted.
3. How Your Data Is Used
The App uses accessed data only for the following purposes:
• to capture and process images for background blur features
• to provide camera preview and live blur preview features
• to let you select images from your gallery or device media
• to edit selected images on your device
• to save edited images to your device
• to verify, unlock, and restore Premium purchases through Google Play
• to display advertisements in the App
• to limit, measure, personalize, and improve advertisements where permitted
• to understand app usage and feature interaction through analytics
• to diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve app stability
• to improve app quality, performance, and user experience
4. Photo and Camera Data
Photos, camera frames, selected images, and edited images are processed on your device for the App’s image editing features.
We do not upload your photos, camera frames, selected images, or edited images to our own servers.
Images you save are stored on your device in locations managed by your device’s media storage system.
Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics are not used to upload, store, or analyze your photos, camera frames, selected images, or edited images.
5. On-Device Processing
The App uses on-device machine learning features to detect and process image content for background blur and editing effects.
This processing is performed locally on the device and is not used to identify you.
6. Purchases and Billing
The App may offer Premium features through Google Play Billing.
If you purchase Premium, payments are processed by Google Play. We do not collect or store your full payment card information.
We may receive limited purchase-related information from Google Play, such as purchase status, in order to:
• unlock Premium features
• verify purchases
• restore previous purchases
• understand purchase and subscription-related app events through Google Play and Firebase integrations, where available
Refunds, billing problems, and payment management are handled through Google Play according to Google Play’s policies.
7. Analytics, Crash Reports, and App Performance
The App may use Google Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, to help us understand app usage, improve app quality, diagnose crashes, and monitor app stability.
Firebase Analytics may collect app usage and interaction information, such as app opens, feature usage, button interactions, purchase-related events, device type, operating system information, approximate location derived from IP address, app version, and other diagnostic or analytics data.
Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash reports and diagnostic information, such as crash logs, device and operating system information, app version, crash time, and technical information needed to understand and fix app errors.
We use this information only to improve the App, monitor stability, fix bugs, understand which features are used, and improve Premium purchase flows.
We do not use Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics to upload, store, or analyze your photos, camera frames, selected images, or edited images.
8. Advertisements
The App may use Google AdMob to display advertisements, including banner ads, rewarded ads, and other ad formats.
Google AdMob may collect and process certain information to provide, measure, personalize, limit, and improve ads. This may include device information, app activity, approximate location derived from IP address, advertising identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID where available, and diagnostic or ad performance information.
Rewarded ads may be used to provide an in-app benefit, such as an extra save or temporary access to a feature, after the ad is completed.
Users may be able to control or reset advertising identifiers and limit ad personalization through device settings or Google account settings.
Advertisements are provided by third-party ad networks and may be subject to their own privacy policies and data handling practices.
We do not use Google AdMob to upload, store, or analyze your photos, camera frames, selected images, or edited images.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your photos, camera frames, selected images, or edited images with our own servers.
Some data may be processed by third-party service providers that help us operate and improve the App, including:
• Google Play Billing, for payments, purchase verification, and restoring purchases
• Google AdMob, for displaying, measuring, limiting, personalizing, and improving advertisements
• Firebase Analytics, for app usage analytics and feature interaction statistics
• Firebase Crashlytics, for crash reports, diagnostics, and app stability monitoring
These third-party providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Data Retention
Photos and edited images remain on your device unless you delete them.
App settings, feature preferences, free save count, ad reward state, and purchase status may be stored locally on your device to remember your preferences, ad-based rewards, and Premium access.
Analytics, advertising, and crash report data may be retained by Google, Firebase, and AdMob according to their own retention policies.
We do not store your photos, camera frames, selected images, or edited images on our own servers.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information handled by the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information in connection with the App, please contact us so we can address the issue.
13. Your Choices
You can control the App’s access to your data by:
• denying or revoking camera permission in your device settings
• choosing whether to select photos from your gallery or device media
• deleting saved images from your device
• managing purchases through your Google Play account
• limiting ad personalization or analytics-related settings through your Google account or device settings, where available
• resetting or controlling the Android Advertising ID through your device settings, where available
• uninstalling the App at any time
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
