I stumbled across a six pin header on my motherboard designed for an internal Bluetooth module that uses USB protocols to communicate, and ended up making the actual cable that allowed me to place the dongle inside the laptop.

Despite the fact that I'm using the specified Bluetooth module port, Windows 10 doesn't recognize it as a Bluetooth radio, just as another USB device, and I'm stuck with the installed drivers' annoying menus, and a hole in my action center:

Bluetooth Usb Dongle V5 0 Driver Download

This is what I have discovered from experimenting over a long time - for windows GUI Bluetooth features to activate, there cannot be any other installed drivers or interfaces. For me in my case, windows didn't active the features until I had uninstalled the stock drivers (CSR Wireless Stack). Basically, Windows needs to be using the "Generic Bluetooth Radio" drivers for the features to be activated.

Windows only supports having a single Bluetooth radio installed at a time. If the driver installer detects another USB adapter, other than the Plugable USB-BT5 adapter, the installer will not proceed.

For advanced users, the driver can also be installed by going into Device Manager, right-clicking on 'Generic Bluetooth Adapter' which represents the USB-BT5, select 'Update Driver', then choose the folder on your PC that contains the extracted USB-BT5 driver.

Please note that employer-provided computers under a Windows Active Directory environment will encounter install problems with these downloaded drivers. Work with your IT team to get the adapter working, if you are encountering issues getting the adapter working on an employer computer.

I'm trying to use the CC2540 USB Dongle as a packet sniffer. It was pre-programmed with the corresponding firmware, but I don't manage to install it on my PC and use it as a sniffer tool. I have already tested with the 2 packet sniffer applications from TI, but it keeps saying there is no driver for it. I found an x86 driver in the sniffer installation folder, but not x64. Installing the BLE stack there are x86 and x64 drivers available but not for this VID/PID (VID_0451&PID_16B3). Is there a 64bit driver for Win 10? Where can I find it?

I can run the CC2540 USB dongle PACKET-SNIFFER v2.18.1 firmware on my Win10 x64 machine. Note that you must install this package since the CEBAL driver used by the packet sniffer is not bundled with the BLE-Stack.

Hi, in the PACKET-SNIFFER v2.18.1 the driver is only for x86 architecture, this is why I have asked here for the x64 driver version. In the meantime there is another answer to my question with the x64 driver version attached, that solved my problem :-)

I'm trying to get through chapter 3 of the mini developers kit user guide. I can't get past the USB Dongle driver association step. Windows is complaining about an unknown USB device. When I try to install the driver from : C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Drivers\Cebal\win_64bit_x64

I got that location from another post, I'm not sure its correct. Windows refused to let me install the driver as it insists either this is not the correct driver for this device or the driver that windows is using better.

The driver under C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Drivers\Cebal\win_64bit_x64 is the driver you need when running the BLE packet sniffer firmware (for the SmartRF Packet Sniffer),

my dongle started malfunctioning recently where the connection would cut in and out. A notification would pop up that the device is unrecognizable in device manager (with a yellow exclamation mark), so I uninstalled the drivers since they automatically get re-installed. But not this time and my usb dongle isnt even recognized when plugged in. I tried other devices too and it's the same thing. I was hoping for device drivers on the logitech website but they don't have any listed. I also tried the connection utility and ghub but, since the dongle is bricked, they didn't work.

When I plug in the adapter nothing happens. I checked in device manager and found that there is an issue with the BCM20702A0 driver.

I have an Insignia Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter for my PC. Instructions say that when it is plugged in, Windows should automatically download the correct driver, however nothing happened. I read reviews online about going into Windows Update > Optional Updates > Driver Updates and activating Broadcom Bluetooth driver there, but I don't have an option for Broadcom Bluetooth in this window. I have tried several different USB ports on my pc but all just have the same issue. I see my PC detects the adapter in Settings > Devices > Other Devices, but it says driver is unavailable.

The Equivital Bluetooth Dongle is a Bluetooth 2.1 class 1 dongle that enables a PC to wirelessly receive data from up to 2 Equivital SEMs. When connected to a PC via USB data can be recorded wirelessly from an SEM into LabChart (Not Included) via the Equivital Device Enabler Software (licence included). It has a range of up to 100m (line of sight).

I have resorted to using an old buggy mouse that I keep for backup. Some of the functions do not work smoothly. I would prefer to get my bluetooth mouse and dongle working again rather than go out and buy a new mouse.

Okay, I followed this suggestion from someone else in the thread: I removed my bluetooth dongle from the usb port. Then I went to device manager and uninstalled Core Bluetooth under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Then I plugged my dongle back in.

But today I tried to use Bluetooth for the first time, and in the Bluetooth section of Settings all I see is the message "No Bluetooth Found - Plug in a dongle to use Bluetooth". The switch to enable Bluetooth can't be clicked on. I used Bluetooth just fine on Ubuntu 20.04, I've only had issues since reinstalling the new Ubuntu version.

The exact steps I followed were opening the "Software & Updates" app, going to "Additional Drivers," selecting "Using DKMS source for the Realtek 8821C PCIe Wi-Fi driver from rtl8821ce-dkms (open source)," and clicking "Apply Changes."

Restarting had no effect at the time, but it seems to have worked now. Maybe after installing drivers, my laptop needed to be powered off and turned back on, not just restarted. A few suggestions I found online indicated that shutting down can sometimes be more effective than restarting, but I had forgotten to try that after changing the driver.

I searched for solutions, and the best hit I found was this forum post - although the chipset (idVendor & idProduct) seems to match with my hardware, I am quite unsure if those drivers are useable for me (since my dongle is manufactured from a complete different company).

The linked drivers (from MPOW) work by implementing the second step - they rename the original module btusb.ko to btusb_bak, and install their own module instead. The new module identifies the chip correct, and searches for the correct firmware.

Background:

After much searching and digging through outdated forums and support threads (usually peppered with snide, and unhelpful commentary), I managed to successfully set-up a Bluetooth dongle on my Macbook. There seems to be a lot of people trying to figure out how to accomplish this seemingly simple task, but not that many offering working solutions, so I decided to add to the cause.

I'm now able to use my mouse without having to place it on the wrong side of my desk in order for it to be close enough to my PC and can even comfortably connect my bluetooth headphones (something I'd given up entirely), and wear them out of the room.

May i know what OS version u use?

i am looking for dongle to work on my MacBook Pro 2010 too.

I have BLE1112, but it not work for my. It found/detect in USB Device tree.. but not in Host Controller selector. Under the "Pick a Host Controller", i only see the original "Apple BRCM..."

I check with my local seller, the Avantree DG40s, all mention this DG40S not compatible is Mac..

Thanks for sharing this info, great to know that DG40S work for ur iMAC.

Did you follow the above step? u manage to select new bluetooth controller under "Pick a Host Controller"?

I am going to buy DG40S to have a test... Hope it work for me too..

I have a 27" 2015 iMac, who's bluetooth stopped functioning immediately after upgrading from Mojave 10.14.2 to 10.14.3. Multiple calls/troubleshooting with Apple included doing the most extreme text/fix of wiping my computer of all data, reinstalling a fresh system -- and still, Bluetooth did not appear under About This Mac/Hardware.

After reading Abertheham's swell Instructable, I found the recommended dongle on NewEgg, and also downloaded the developer tools. I plugged in the dongle, and was about to run the developer software, when I noticed that my Bluetooth menu icon was already in place again -- with my bluetooth items (mouse, airpods) listed as usual. So I actually did not have to run any software. (And as a test, to see if just plugging the dongle in had fixed some association to my computer with bluetooth capabilities -- I unplugged the dongle, and bluetooth went away. So the dongle IS the source of the bluetooth.)

I hadn't realized that bluetooth dongles existed and were an inexpensive/easy way to bring bluetooth functionality to a broken Mac. When looking for where to purchase this dongle, there were a lot of similar gizmos that all said they were NOT Mac-compatible. I don't know if in actually they might also be recognized just as easily by a contemporary model machine -- but I decided not to test that and just went with the specific dongle that Abertheham suggested.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up -- and although my situation was different than yours -- reading your instructions still helped to resolve my problem.

It's been two weeks, but ASUS working now and connected to a 4-Port USB hub with power adapter (Sabrent brand). The benefit is that I can turn the ASUS bluetooth off and back on from the hub in order to reset the bluetooth and get the keyboard connected again. 17dc91bb1f
