Minor App Tech ("we," "us," or "our") built the Scan Bluetooth - Auto Connect app (the "App") as a freemium application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories to provide and improve the App:
1. Device and Network Information
To provide Bluetooth and WiFi scanning functionality, the App accesses:
- Bluetooth device names, types, signal strength (RSSI), and MAC addresses of nearby discoverable devices
- WiFi network names (SSIDs), signal strength, frequency, security type, and your device IP address
- Your device Bluetooth and WiFi adapter status
This information is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Scan history (scan type and device count) is stored locally on your device in an offline database.
2. Location Information
The App requests access to your device location solely because Android requires location permission to perform Bluetooth and WiFi scans. We do not track, store, or transmit your geographic location to any server.
3. Device Identifiers and Advertising Data
We use the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK to display advertisements. AdMob may collect:
- Android Advertising ID
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
This data is used to serve relevant advertisements and measure ad performance. You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads through your device settings.
4. Analytics and Diagnostics
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the App is used and to identify and fix technical issues. These services may collect:
- App usage patterns (screens visited, features used, session duration)
- Crash reports and error logs
- Device information (model, OS version, language, country)
- App performance data
This data is collected in aggregate form and does not personally identify you.
5. Purchase Information
If you choose to subscribe to our premium features, your purchase is processed through Google Play Billing and managed by RevenueCat. We do not directly collect or store your payment information (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.). RevenueCat receives:
- Transaction identifiers
- Subscription status and plan type
- Purchase timestamps
This information is used solely to manage your subscription status and restore purchases across devices.

The App uses the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy governing the use of information:

How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the App functionality (Bluetooth scanning, WiFi scanning, speed testing, device finding)
- To display advertisements (for free-tier users)
- To process and manage premium subscriptions
- To analyze app usage and improve performance
- To detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical issues
- To comply with legal obligations
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
We share data with third-party service providers only as described above (AdMob for advertising, Firebase for analytics and crash reporting, RevenueCat for subscription management). These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their respective privacy policies.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.
Data Storage and Retention
- Scan history is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers. You can clear your scan history at any time from within the App.
- Analytics data is retained by Firebase for up to 14 months.
- Crash data is retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
- Advertising data retention is governed by Google AdMob policies.
- Subscription data is retained by RevenueCat for the duration of your subscription and as required for transaction records.
Data Security
We value your trust in providing us your information. We use commercially acceptable means to protect it, including encryption of data in transit via TLS/SSL. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Rights
- Advertising Preferences: You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads on most Android devices).
- Consent Management: Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and other applicable regions are presented with a consent dialog on first launch. You can update your consent preferences at any time through the App settings.
- Clear Local Data: You can clear your scan history within the App or clear all App data through your device settings (Settings > Apps > Scan Bluetooth - Auto Connect > Clear Data).
- Uninstall: You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the App. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include:
- The right to access, update, or delete your information
- The right to object to or restrict the processing of your data
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent at any time

Note that locally stored data can be deleted by clearing the App data or uninstalling the App. For data held by third-party services (Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat), please refer to their respective privacy policies for deletion procedures.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
