Kimberly is in her 13th year of teaching and serving her 2nd term as the BSNEA President. In addition to serving our local, she also serves as the West Central Regional Secretary for MNEA, and is a member of the Missouri NEA Board of Directors. In the past she has served as BSNEA's Vice President & Membership Chair, and is the 2025 Missouri NEA Soar With the Eagles award winner.
"I joined NEA as a college student, and I continue to invest more and more into this union and cause because public education is important to me. NEA's vision and dedication to all students and staff members is reflective of what I believe in for my life, my students, my colleagues, and my son."
Loriana is in her 10th year teaching in Blue Springs. She teaches elementary music at Thomas Ultican Elementary. She is our current BSNEA Vice-President and also the Public Relations Chair. She has also served for BSNEA as Secretary, Online Communications/Social Media Chair, and Representative Assembly Delegate.
"I chose NEA because of the protection and support they give educators from not only an educational standpoint, but from a personal standpoint. I know they are always doing the hard work on the ground floor, and that's something I will always want to be a part of. "
Amber is in her 6th year of teaching, currently at Paul Kinder Middle School. She currently serves as the BSNEA Treasurer and PAC co-chair. She was also elected to serve on the MNEA State Review Board.
"I choose NEA for three reasons. First, it’s the only teachers’ union in Missouri. Second, NEA actively lobbies for policies that strengthen public schools and ensure all students have access to quality education. Lastly, NEA also works to protect educators' rights to political activism and ensure their voices are heard in the political process. "
Michelle is in her 24th year teaching Special Education. She has been an active NEA member since 2007, she has served BSNEA as Vice President, Secretary, and other prominent roles within the local organization. In addition to our current BSNEA Secretary, she represents us as a Board Member for the Blue Springs Education Foundation.
"I chose NEA because of the direct supports that are provided to educators. There is power in numbers and NEA represents and protects public education to ensure safe working conditions for educators and safe learning environments for students. I appreciate knowing there are people at all levels advocating for public education and policies."
Ashleigh is in her 25th year teaching AP Language & Composition, Senate, and English 110/210 at Blue Springs South High School. Ashleigh has served BSNEA as the President. She has also participated in the NEA Global Fellowship.
"I reached a point in my career when it became important to me to be part of a professional organization, particularly one that prioritizes teachers and students. Having a voice on a local, state, and national level is crucial. I'm proud to be NEA."
Deena is in her 30th year in BSSD, first as an Assistant Accountant, and then as a Nutrition Specialist. Deena is in her 2nd year as the BSNEA Educator Support Professionals Representative.

Karl is in his 5th year teaching, with a unique journey from the culinary world, he brings a creative and hands-on approach to education. He currently teaches Biomedical Sciences at Blue Springs South High School. This is Karl's first year as BSNEA's High School Representative.
"I chose NEA because of it's unwavering support for educators and its exceptional resources for personal and professional development. My goal is to advocate for teachers and create meaningful learning experiences that stick with students far beyond graduation."
Travis is in his 10th year in BSSD, and 15th in education. He is a science teacher and coach at Delta Woods Middle School. He is a husband to an Early Childhood Special Education teacher, and a father to a Blue Springs elementary student.
"As a second career teacher, it has always been important to me to be part of a true union with a broad scope, view, and influence. NEA, MNEA, and BSNEA all have the same goal of protecting the rights of all our students, all of our teachers and staff, and creating the best environments possible for education to occur. Education has many challenges in its path, and I want to be part of an organization with the ability to address the full scope of these challenges at local, state, and national levels. We just want to educate kids and make them the best that they can be."
