Jared Blakely
Jared Blakely is back by popular demand! "Get Funky With It" The first half of this class teaches and dissects stylized movements from the disco era so you have the building blocks and understanding to add the feel of funk to any dance. Then: Ever find yourself doing the same move over and over? Feel like every dance is the same? The second half of this class focuses on seizing creativity and autonomy in your dance, whether lead or follow, so that you can escape the rut and hit the funk.
6:30pm-7:30pm
Class 5 | Intermediate+/Advanced
Kris Medeiros & Chris Ransdell
Kris & Chris Continue from Friday's class... "Bedspring Blues" | Tempo: Upbeat/Fast
We will delve into intense weight shifts the spring-like aspect of your leg to ankle-to-foot, & how to get your connection to literally "rock." This class is not for the faint of heart; you will break a sweat & never look at heavy rockin' blues the same. This class requires a basic understanding of movement & traditional connection. This echos a traditional style of blues dancing combined with a modern flare derived from the more contemporary music used in class. You might even see a similarity to another dance descendant from jazz that might surprise you.
