Blue Ribbon Lawn and Landscaping LLC. officially launched in the spring of 2012.

Brandon Buch is the CEO and owner of Blue Ribbon. He received his degree in landscape management from Kirkwood Community College in 2010. Brandon grew up on a farm in rural Fairfield. He comes from a large family of eight (One brother- Brent, and four sisters- Heather, Britni, Brianne, and Nicole). His mom, Sue is a banker, and his dad, Jeff is a farmer. Ever since he was young, he loved working outdoors and on the farm.

He married Taylor Hjerleid June, 20th 2015. They had an adorable baby girl named Brayton on December 13th, 2016.They also have a silver lab named Skye. Brandon also is a farmer and volunteer firefighter for the Fairfield Fire Department.

How it all started

Brandon and his best friend, Kyle, started a small lawn service business in their home town of Fairfield, IA when they were just freshman in high school. Brandon and Kyle started to earn a great reputation around town as dependable hard workers who were good at what they did. After the first year they had over 30 paying customers and not only offered mowing but, mulching, and weed pulling, as well as shoveling snow off the side walks in winter months. As the business grew, so did they, Kyle went off to Iowa State University to pursue a different career path, but Brandon wanted to expand the business. Brandon bought out the business and pursued his education at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. He took classes such as nursery and garden center management, irrigation, landscape design, hardscaping, and business classes, all while keeping the lawn care business back home in Fairfield, IA going. After he earned his degree and gained a soiled foundation to take his business to the next level, he renamed the business to Blue Ribbon Lawn and Landscaping LLC. He also expanded the business, offering services such as Irrigation design, installation, landscaping, hardscaping, water feature design and build, and outdoor lighting. In the winter months he added a snow and ice removal service.
