BLUEPOND AI - INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
BLUEPOND AI - INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Twelve students of Class XI undertook an internship program at BLUEPOND AI that turned out to be one of those rare academic experiences that manage to be simultaneously educational and entertaining. The very name BLUEPOND itself felt symbolic: Blue reflecting vastness, originality, and that quiet confidence to stand apart, and Pond signifying stillness and core values that do not waver regardless of how fast the world around them evolves. Interestingly, this combination of ambition and calm was exactly what the students encountered during the internship.
The learning began with three individuals, Mr. Manikandan-witty, sharp, effortlessly humorous, and equipped with the kind of examples that finally made AI concepts click. Supporting the session were Mr Ankush and Ms Vaishnavi. Their examples were relevant, crisp, and relatable, making even the heavier concepts feel manageable.
The content covered during the internship was extensive but delivered in a way that kept the students engaged. The session began with the basics: What AI actually is and what it aims to achieve, then travelled through its evolution-from the era of strict rule-based systems to machine learning, from deep learning to the large language models shaping the world today.
The applications of AI were discussed with real-world clarity: healthcare diagnostics, social media algorithms, modern transportation systems, chatbots, insurance claim processing, and educational tools. Each application was presented in a grounded manner that helped us understand not only how the technology works but also why it is so widely adopted.
The session did not shy away from the ethical and practical limitations of AI. Students were
reminded, firmly and repeatedly, never to share personal information with AI systems, to always
verify what AI outputs (because hallucinations are very real), and to acknowledge the risks
associated with deepfakes, misuse, and potential job displacement. This honesty gave students a
realistic understanding of the field instead of a glossy, idealized version.
On the technical side, students were introduced to the workflow behind developing an AI model: dataset collection, preprocessing, selecting the appropriate model, splitting datasets, training, evaluating using metrics, and translating all this into meaningful project ideas.
And then, there was the venue—WORK EZ. If learning was the brain’s reward, the environment was the emotional one. The space felt less like a corporate office and more like a well-designed student paradise. A billiards table for strategic thinking, chess spots for the intellectuals, private calling booths for dramatic conversations, and the coffee vending machine.
By the end of the day, the internship had achieved the rare feat of being academic without being exhausting, formal without being dull, and technical without being overwhelming. It was an experience that encouraged curiosity, made learning enjoyable, and delivered insights that felt both accessible and valuable. In every sense, the day was informative, humorous and engaging.
