I believe portraits should never feel stiff or forced. A photo session should feel like an experience — something real, not fake. Whether I'm at your home or standing at a Blue Mountains lookout, my goal is to make it feel like a genuine memory, not another awkward photo. Using our surroundings I will create beautiful high-quality portraits and an experience you will remember.  

I’m George Lawday, an emerging portrait photographer, capturing Family, Couple, and Individual portraits. My interest in photography began when I was 14 and did a photography course through year 8. In the course i learned the basics on how to capture photos, use light, store and transfer images, and practical assessments. The 2 years after that I used my phone practicing composition and capturing photos to keep growing my skills. Three years later I'm on my 4th year in photography moving onto my 5th year and have decided to use my skills in making a business and further improving my skills in the photography industry. 

I will provide high-quality, clean images that capture genuine emotions rather than forced expressions. I make sure that even if you normally dislike having your photo taken, you’ll feel comfortable, relaxed, and confident during our session together. My goal is to make it feel more like an experience than a traditional photoshoot. 

I shoot with the Nikon D850, a high-end professional camera that delivers razor sharp, vibrant images you’ll be proud to display.

I offer three signature styles, each designed to match different moods and preferences:

• Warm: Golden, glowing tones with soft light, capturing joyful, heartfelt moments — perfect for family and couple sessions that feel full of life.
  
  

• Cinematic: Dramatic lighting, rich contrast, and visually striking compositions — like a still from a movie, ideal for bold, artistic portraits.
  
  

• Natural: Minimal editing, neutral colors, and straightforward compositions — perfect for professional settings or those who prefer clean, realistic portraits.

Education in Business

In school I spent 3 years studying commerce and business, how to run a business, how to market a business, how to make a website, how to build a brand, how a business works, and how to work as a team. I also spent my time at home studying business and the different kinds of business. I also learned the finance side how to manage income/expenses, how to save, how to price, and how to manage taxes and all the boring bits and pieces.

I made a small business selling Lego figures where I learned technical support, sales, postage, and how to and manage income.

Before making this portrait business, I studied using my prior skills to further develop them into owning a portrait business and how to get my business out into the world.
