My name is Wei Jin (金未). I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at Boston University School of Public Health. I received my Ph.D. in Statistics from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University, under the supervision of Professor Yanxun Xu. I am a recipient of the Leonard J. Savage Award in the Applied Methodology Section and Honorable Mention for the Mitchell Prize from the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA).
My research focuses on developing novel Bayesian statistical and machine learning methods for a broad range of problems, including Bayesian nonparametrics, dynamic treatment regimes, and causal discovery. I also conduct interdisciplinary research by collaborating with domain experts to address real-world challenges across various biomedical applications, such as electronic health/medical record data, precision medicine, mental health and cognition among people living with HIV, and early detection of Alzheimer’s disease.
