My name is Wei Jin (金未). I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH). I am also affiliated with the BUSPH Center for Health Data Science (CHDS), the BUSPH Center for Trauma and Mental Health (CTMH), and the Providence/Boston Center for AIDS Research (CFAR). I received my PhD in Statistics from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University, under the supervision of Professor Yanxun Xu. I am a recipient of the Leonard J. Savage Award in the Applied Methodology Section and an Honorable Mention for the Mitchell Prize from the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA).
My research focuses on developing novel Bayesian statistical and machine learning methods for a broad range of problems, including Bayesian nonparametrics, causal machine learning, causal discovery, dynamic treatment regimes, and reinforcement learning. I also conduct interdisciplinary research by collaborating with domain experts to address real-world challenges across various biomedical and public health applications, such as electronic health/medical record data, precision medicine in HIV, mental health and cognition, substance use and addiction, and early detection of Alzheimer's disease.
