A: We are teens eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need of tutoring. For more info, go to our Meet The Team page.
A: If you wish to do so, you may, but be aware that we may not be able to assign the requested tutor.
A: Until August 19th of 2020, most of our tutors will be available on a daily basis; however, after the aforementioned date, course availability will vary based on each staff member's schedule.
A: Most of our courses are directed towards children in the kindergarten through fifth grade levels, but special arrangements may be made upon request.
A: Mentoring comprises of socializing and teaching your child how to handle necessary emotional aspects of life, while tutoring consists of instruction of more academic nature.
A: In order to ensure the full safety of our students, our tutors consist of friends, friends of friends, or other enthusiastic teens. We verify the teens by (a) checking any social media accounts they may own and (b) having one of our already-certified tutors meet with them on a virtual platform before accepting them.
A: Although we would recommend getting a tutor, if you don't want to, you can always email us at blueiristutors@gmail.com, and we'll do our best to answer your question over email.
A: We match the needs of your child with the tutor who is most knowledgeable in that field of study.
A: Yes, this is really free! We are simply teens hoping to help others through education. There is no catch! However, please feel free to visit our Donations page; all funds we receive go straight to various charities, and any contributions, big or small, would be greatly appreciated!
A: We recommend that at least one of the parents sits in at least part of the initial session in order to get to know the tutor. After that, it is entirely up to you!
A: Our sessions will be held over Zoom, Google Meets, or Hangout.
A: To facilitate the full safety of your children, not only will none of the sessions be recorded, and, as mentioned above, we will have a thorough screening of any tutors. Additionally, our tutors have experience working with kids and no camera will be required for the kids
A: No, after giving consent once, you don’t have to do it again.
A: If you wanted to sign up for additional tutoring after you already submitted the first form, we would have to ask you to fill another form out.
A: Of course!
A: Yes! We are here to help your child learn to their full capacity. Although we can’t promise to fulfill every time request, we will try our best to!
A: It would be best to shoot us an email at least a day before.
A: Purple irises symbolize royalty and wisdom. Yellow irises symbolize passion. However, blue irises symbolize hope. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope.” We believe that despite the current pandemic rampaging countless countries, it is important to keep the hope that eventually things will get better. And when they do, we want your children to be academically prepared.
A: Yes!
A: We would be happy to answer any of your questions at blueiristutors@gmail.com
