BlueHound helps you find lost Bluetooth devices by signal strength. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
BlueHound does not collect, store off your device, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no ads. Everything the app does happens locally on your phone.
Bluetooth (nearby devices): BlueHound scans for Bluetooth devices and reads their signal strength so it can show you how close each device is and guide you toward a lost one. Scanning happens only while the app is open.
Motion/position sensors (compass): While you are actively locating a device, BlueHound reads the phone's compass to suggest which direction the device is in. This is used only in the moment and is never recorded.
BlueHound declares its Bluetooth scanning permission with the neverForLocation flag, meaning it does not use Bluetooth to derive or infer your geographic location.
To make the finder work better over time, BlueHound saves a small amount of information locally on your device only: your feedback preference (silent / vibrate / sound), and a per-device signal calibration range for devices you have paired. This data never leaves your phone, is not associated with your identity, and is removed when you uninstall the app.
None. BlueHound does not contact any server and does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
BlueHound is a general-purpose utility, does not target children, and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
