Boston Private Industry Council Summer internships

Open to: Students 16 and up

The PIC is preparing to start taking applications for our summer placements! Offered only to BPS students this is a great opportunity to work in the summer at some of the Cities best organizations! Ms. Laverty will be collecting the PIC summer applications. If you would like to receive emails about the application and the process please email erin.laverty@bostonpic.org  Private sector positions could be, State Street, Brigham and Women's Hospital, State Street. For any hospital based internship you must be 16 years old by June 1st.

Summer Youth Development Program

The Youth Development Program provides opportunities for youth to explore their identity and culture, tell their stories, and develop positive relationships with peers and adults. We focus on arts enrichment, civic engagement, academic support, financial empowerment, and job readiness during our daily workshops.  

Open to:  BPS students aged 14-18 years old, Must be eligible to work in the U.S.- Must be able to work Monday- Friday 10am-4pm July 8th until August 16th

Pay : $15 per hour

Teachers Cadet Summer Academy

Open to: 9th-12th grade BPS students

Program dates: Monday - Thursday, 10am - 2:30pm

July 5- August 15th

Pay : $15 per hour - meals provided- prizes and field trips!

Location: Boston University Campus 

Courses offered: Foundations of Graphic Design, Media Engagement in the Modern World, Creative Haven, Political Speech 101

The Teacher Cadet Summer Academy is a paid summer development program for rising 9th-grade through 2024 high school graduates. Students will participate in 2 classes per day focused on arts & music, civic engagement, graphic design, and political speech. These courses, taught by our college intern cohort, are designed to educate students and inspire a natural passion for education. Pedagogical practices employed by our facilitators are far from the norm in public secondary education, taking a more discussion and independent research-based method of personal exploration and developing criticality.

District Attorney Hayden's Advocates for Criminal Justice Fellowship 

Open to: 10th 11th 12th grade students in BPS

Pay: $15.OO per hour Monday July 8th-  Friday August 16th

Important details : Must be in good academic standing with good attendance record. Students must have a social security card to work in the court system

Description of fellowship : The District Attorney Fellowhip, sponsored by the Office of the Suffolk County District Attorney, is an educational summer internship that teaches students about the Massachusetts court system and all the steps in the criminal process. Students will spend part of their workday in the District Attorney court offices and the other part of each day in educational sessions where they will learn about the criminal process from arraignment to trial and everything in between. Interns are taught and mentored by assistant district attorneys and other personnel from the DA’s office who volunteer their time in educational sessions or as work supervisors.  Interns will also observe and hear from court partners such as judges, clerks, probation officers and court officers.
