Civics Innovation Fellowship

The Civic Innovation Fellowship equips Fellows with the skills, network, and funding they need to become civically-minded leaders and make social change.
They are looking for civic-minded, entrepreneurial students with big visions for the future. Fellows have gone on to top colleges and used funding to create powerful initiatives to improve their local communities.

Join students from around the world in Scotland to develop leadership, communication, and problem solving skills. Students will participate in a 10 month mentorship program to design a service project for their community.

The American Heritage Museum in Hudson, MA has teamed up with the Normandy Academy, (from the WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA) to offer an 11-day all-expense paid trip to visit the WWII historical sites in the Normandy area of France.
The applicant must write a one-page letter explaining why he or she would like to go on this trip. Selected applicant must make a presentation about their trip here at the American Heritage Museum and to their peers at school.

Biomedical Science Careers Student Conf.
The Biomedical Science Careers Program (BSCP) is encouraging underrepresented minority high school seniors or juniors (particularly Black/African-American, Hispanic/LatinX or American Indian/Alaska Native students) to attend the 2023 Conference.
Student participants should be seriously interested in or currently studying medicine, biomedical science or other science-related fields, such as chemistry, physics, biology, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering, biotechnology, physical therapy, public health, allied health or environmental science.
The aim of the Conference is to provide students/fellows with an opportunity to network with advisors/role models from the basic and clinical sciences, medicine, public health, academia and the biopharmaceutical industry. These advisors/role models will encourage students/fellows to complete advanced studies and provide concrete advice and information on available resources, professional opportunities and career paths in biomedical science and other science-related fields. The Conference also enables student/fellow participants to meet, inspire and network with one another. Additionally, each Conference offers breakout and plenary sessions, and a program featuring science resources, including internships, summer programs and after-school activities. American Enterprise Summit

The American Enterprise Summit for Middle School Students is an opportunity of a lifetime for need-based, rising 8th-grade students from across the country to travel to Washington, D.C., to experience all the different ways that successful leaders reached their American Dream. During this 4-day event, students will be inspired through our experiential curriculum to ignite their passions from outstanding leaders who have accomplished remarkable successes despite adversity.
This program is for nominated students and is fully funded to ensure all interested scholars can attend! We encourage interested students to reach out to their preferred educator to receive their nomination.

Students at Buckingham, Brown, and Nichols have invited BLS students to participate in their virtual roundtable student conversations.
BB&N Round Square Committee is having our 49th Global Community Conversations (GCC) on Sunday, December 4th at 10:30 AM EDT. Please check the hyperlink for your local time to account for Daylight Savings Time.
Our theme for this session is Propaganda. The discussion will be facilitated by Elizabeth Chin, Beyoncé Hector, and Flynn Coyne (BB&N, USA). We will discuss 3 subtopics: social media, national propaganda, and negative effects.
Join us for our hour of focused discussion and cultural exchange! Founded at BB&N in July 2020, GCC is a biweekly virtual forum that seeks to replicate the Round Square Barazza experience. Participants will learn about diverse perspectives, connect with peers, and have fun through a chosen theme.

Healthy Relationship Academy
Want to earn money for learning about healthy relationships? Want to join our community of young leaders and have fun while learning new skills? Then join us!
Casa Myrna is launching a Healthy Relationship Academy (HRA) and we'd love for you to be a part of it! We are looking for young people 14-18 years old.
HRA is a 6-week program that starts Tuesday November 29, 2022, and ends January 12, 2023. During your time with us you will earn a total of $300 with the opportunity to earn more. Weeks 1 - 3 focus on domestic violence education as well as some personal development around public speaking and financial literacy. At the end of that first half, you will receive the first $150 stipend. Weeks 4-6 focus on healthy relationships and tools we can all use in our everyday life. You will also continue to dive deeper into your personal development around public speaking, financial literacy and self-reflection. We will end our program in celebratory graduation on January 12, 2023, where you will receive your final stipend of $150 and a Certificate of Completion.
We will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-6pm at our Dorchester Grove Hall headquarters (451 Blue Hill Avenue).

This program for post-baccalaureates, college students and high school seniors, juniors and sophomores provides information and guidance in areas such as application process for college and medical/ graduate/ professional schools, interviewing skills, financial planning, resume writing and internship opportunities.

BLS Rep needed for Boston Student Advisory Council
BSAC is an after school opportunity for BPS students who are committed to youth leadership and advocacy. BSAC is the main vehicle for student voice at the district level and will tackle important issues that students are facing.
Pay: Youth will be paid up to 10 hours per week, at $14.25 an hour-must be 14 years or older to be paid.
Commitment: Tuesday's from 3-6pm and Friday's from 1-5pm (following your dismissal from school); November through May 2023

Crimson Summer Academy @ Harvard University
The Crimson Summer Academy at Harvard University is an exciting and innovative program for motivated high school students with a passion for learning and a desire to excel.
Over the course of three consecutive summers, 30 students from public schools in Boston, Cambridge and Somerville engage in a stimulating mix of classes, projects, and cultural activities as they prepare for success in college and beyond. Through small group instruction, sustained support, and close mentoring relationships with college undergraduates, the Academy encourages deserving high school students to expand their vision of what’s possible as they prepare to become viable candidates for admission to challenging four-year colleges and universities.

Youth Ambassadors Experience
The Youth Ambassadors Program is a leadership exchange program for high school students and adult mentors from countries across the Western Hemisphere. The program provides full scholarships for participants to take part in cultural and educational programming focused on a variety of themes specific to the different countries.
The program aims to develop a cadre of young adults throughout the Americas who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, an awareness of current and global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills. The program aims to promote mutual understanding, respect, and collaboration between people in the United States and other countries of the region.

This enrichment course, designed for students in grades 9-12 and taught by MIT students, will introduce students to key concepts in mapping and data science using examples drawn from Boston—no experience needed! Students will develop informed perspectives on the relationship between widespread data collection and democracy; how political geography and geographic data relates to urban service provision; methods for measuring time and distance; and the tools designers use to tell stories with maps. Come to the Boston Public Library on a Saturday morning to try out the lessons, eat snacks, consider future career paths, meet each other, and receive a $25 gift card.
