From the owner,
“I started working in a flower shop when I was sixteen years old. I worked for Laurie and Greg Erbstoesser, at Floral Accents by Laurie in Marion, MA. It was an amazing first job! After they closed, I attended New England School of Floral Design and then worked for Catherine Wrobel at Country Charm Flower Shop in Rochester, MA. When she made the decision to sell her business, I thought, "I think I'll buy it!" At twenty one I became the owner of Country Charm Flower Shop in Rochester, MA. A few years later, I moved the business to Mattapoisett, changed the name to Blossoms Flower Shop, and continued the business for 13 years.
As of July 2nd 2018, Blossoms Flower Shop is back open after 13 years, and ready to serve all of your floral needs! This time the business is not only mine, but my family's as well. My husband Truman is the master builder, my daughter Holyn is the marketing manager, and Lexi provides the entertainment as the resident rescue pup. I am back where I belong and thrilled to be doing what I love again.”
From Holyn,
"I started working in the shop with my mom when she re-opened in 2018. At first, I found it difficult to learn all of the many aspects of the business of flowers.
Throughout the pandemic, I did my school work remotely from the shop, and was able to get the best hands-on learning in business. I learned floral design from the best, and built our social media pages and online presence – our lifeline through the pandemic. When it came time for thinking toward the future, I decided to apply to college for business, which I never would have imagined prior to COVID.
After graduating from high school at Old Rochester, I headed to Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI to begin my Bachelors Degree studies in Marketing. I was able to have the best professors and experiences, in class, and in my work study job at the Office of Student Life. I tackled business courses such as Accounting, Consumer Behavior, and Strategic Management, joined the Delta Sigma Pi professional fraternity, participated in the research team for the National Student Advertising Competition, and gained a comprehensive knowledge of music history, while practicing vocal performance.
I also have my own business, HAT’s Festive Finishes wrapping service, and do Social Media Strategy Consulting part-time.
After my graduation in spring of 2026, I will be joining forces with my mom to grow the special place that is Blossoms Flower Shop. I was born into this shop, have grown with it, and cannot wait to realize the potential that it holds for both of us."
