The worst of the Glanton gang, the Judge is a 7ft albino man with no hair
Throughout the novel wherever he goes children disappear
He is representative of the devil
His character was influenced by the devil in "Paradise Lost"
The kid is a young teen who's lack of purpose is, in the end, what kills him
His involvement in the horrible acts of the gang is debated
He is boasted by some as the more moral of the group
Tobin is an ex-priest who joined the gang for unknown reasons
He acts as a mentor to the kid, trying to protect him from the Judge
He is also said to be somewhat better than the others in the gang.
Glanton is the leader of the gang
At one point it is mentioned that he left his wife and kid to do this
He is portrayed as a stoic and quiet man
David Brown is not described much in the book
It is noted that after the group discovers Bathcat's corpse he is the one to wear his necklace of ears
Originally from Wales, Bathcat has been a professional killer for sometime, previously doing so in Australia
Similarly to David Brown, we don't learn much about him
The Delawares are an odd addition to the gang, helping the group kill their own people
They are often sent out as scouts as the gang travels as natives are not immediately hostile to them
They take care of one another
One of them is killed by a bear
Toadvine is a man of violence
Like many others in the gang, it's all he knows
Toadvine is friends with the kid
