The primary role of a Astartes is their attending of chapter operations. These are events hosted by the zeus's where the goal of the force is to complete various objectives set by the zeus. These can range in difficutly but are generally allocated to one of these catagories: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Extreme. Additionally these are broken down into two classifications, OPD or FPD.

OPD: An OPD (whether this is loggable is up to the host) is a Operation where Astartes do not run the risk of getting wiped should they be killed during the duration of the Operation. This is more favored by scouts due to the aversion of risk.

FPD: An FPD is a Operation where by any of the Astartes involved will be wiped upon their apothecary timer running out. This means the individual has to start all the way from their humble beginnings as a neophyte. Allies are not allowed to attend these operations and these are the only Operations that count towards veterancy status.

A "Trial of Blood" is a event hosted by an experienced astartes within the Blood Angels, its purpose is to give a small test to the Neophytes of the chapter and give them a taste of combat. Should one pass their Trial of Blood they are now a Scout and take one more step on the path to becoming a Brother.
