Blokkd Terms of Service
Last updated: June 26, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Blokkd iOS application (“Blokkd,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, accessing, or using Blokkd, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Blokkd.
Please also review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information.
1. About Blokkd
Blokkd is a focus and productivity app that helps users stay on task by blocking non-essential apps during focus sessions, tracking focus time, maintaining streaks, and connecting with friends through friend-only leaderboards.
Blokkd uses Apple’s Screen Time, Family Controls, and ManagedSettings frameworks to apply app shields during focus sessions. Certain essential iOS apps and system functions, such as Phone and Messages, may remain available because Apple does not allow third-party apps to block them.
Blokkd is intended to support focus and productivity. It is not a medical, psychological, educational, or professional advice service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Blokkd.
By using Blokkd, you represent that:
- You are at least 13 years old.
- You are legally able to agree to these Terms.
- The information you provide is accurate and belongs to you.
- You will use Blokkd in compliance with these Terms and applicable laws.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should use Blokkd only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
3. Your Account
To use Blokkd, you may need to create an account using an email address and password. Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure.
- Using an email address that you own or are authorized to use.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Promptly updating account information if needed.
You may not:
- Create an account using someone else’s email address.
- Share your account with others.
- Attempt to access another user’s account.
- Use Blokkd for fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful purposes.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, attempt to bypass security rules, or harm other users or the app.
4. Email Verification and Password Reset
Blokkd may require email verification before allowing access to app features. Password reset emails may be sent through Firebase Authentication.
You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account. If you lose access to your email, we may not be able to verify ownership of the account.
5. Focus Sessions and App Blocking
Blokkd allows you to start focus sessions during which non-essential apps may be blocked using Apple’s Screen Time APIs.
You understand and agree that:
- App blocking depends on Apple’s Screen Time, Family Controls, ManagedSettings, iOS permissions, and device settings.
- Some essential Apple/system apps and functions may remain available due to iOS limitations.
- Blocking may not work if required permissions are denied, revoked, restricted, or unavailable.
- Blokkd may not function the same on simulators, unsupported devices, restricted devices, or devices with unusual system settings.
- Blokkd cannot guarantee that every distracting app, website, notification, or workaround will be blocked.
- You are responsible for ending sessions appropriately and checking that shields are removed when needed.
Blokkd is designed so that shields can be removed locally when a session ends, including when offline. However, you should not use Blokkd in situations where temporary app blocking could create safety, emergency, legal, medical, school, work, or personal risk.
6. No Emergency or Safety Reliance
Do not rely on Blokkd for emergencies or critical situations.
You should not start a focus session if blocking non-essential apps could interfere with your ability to:
- Contact emergency services.
- Communicate with parents, guardians, family members, school officials, employers, or caregivers.
- Access transportation, health, safety, financial, or time-sensitive services.
- Use apps required for school, work, travel, medical, or legal obligations.
Although essential apps such as Phone and Messages may remain available due to iOS limitations, Blokkd is not responsible for any harm, loss, missed communication, missed deadline, or inconvenience caused by your use of focus sessions or app blocking.
7. Focus Data, Streaks, and Leaderboards
Blokkd tracks focus time, focus sessions, streaks, weekly totals, and related statistics.
You understand that:
- Focus statistics may be estimates based on app activity, session state, device time, and backend records.
- Streaks, totals, rankings, and leaderboard positions may change due to session interruptions, permission changes, app updates, bugs, time zone handling, account deletion, abuse prevention, or data corrections.
- We may use technical measures to detect tampering, cheating, clock changes, device reboots, or other activity that may affect session integrity.
Leaderboard features are friend-only. Accepted friends may see certain aggregate profile and focus statistics, such as username, focus time, streaks, and ranking. Individual focus session records are not intended to be visible to friends.
8. Friends and Social Features
Blokkd may allow users to connect with friends through friend codes, friend requests, and friend-only leaderboards.
You agree not to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other users.
- Share another person’s friend code without permission.
- Use friend requests or leaderboards for spam, harassment, or unwanted contact.
- Attempt to scrape, copy, or collect user data from the app.
- Use Blokkd to embarrass, pressure, or harm others.
We may remove friendships, restrict social features, limit friend requests, or suspend accounts if we believe the social features are being misused.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Blokkd for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with Blokkd’s security features.
- Attempt to access Firebase, Firestore, App Check, or backend resources without authorization.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or create derivative works of Blokkd except where allowed by law.
- Use bots, scripts, automated tools, or unauthorized clients to access Blokkd.
- Interfere with the operation of Blokkd or other users’ use of the app.
- Upload, submit, or transmit malicious code.
- Attempt to artificially inflate focus time, streaks, leaderboard rankings, or account statistics.
- Use Blokkd in a way that could damage, disable, overload, or impair our services.
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including account suspension, account deletion, removal of data, or restriction of features.
10. App Availability, Updates, and Changes
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Blokkd at any time, with or without notice.
We may change:
- Features
- Focus session behavior
- Leaderboard rules
- Streak calculations
- Friend limits
- Security controls
- Supported devices or iOS versions
- Data retention practices, as described in our Privacy Policy
Some features may require an internet connection, Firebase availability, Apple services, or updated app versions. We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by Apple, Google Firebase, network providers, device settings, or other third parties.
11. Third-Party Services
Blokkd relies on third-party services, including Apple frameworks and Google Firebase services. These services may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, and technical limitations.
Blokkd is not responsible for:
- Apple Screen Time, Family Controls, ManagedSettings, or iOS limitations.
- Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, App Check, or Google Cloud service interruptions.

The Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you.
By using Blokkd, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.
13. Account Deletion
You may delete your account from the Profile screen in the app, subject to any in-app requirements such as re-authentication and not having an active focus session.
Account deletion may permanently delete your Firebase Authentication account, user profile, focus sessions, friendships, friend code lookup entry, and related account data, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Account deletion is irreversible. If you delete your account, we may not be able to restore your data.
Certain information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, local device caches, analytics systems, or records retained for security, legal, or legitimate business purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Intellectual Property
Blokkd, including its name, design, interface, features, graphics, logos, code, text, and other content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not give you ownership of Blokkd or any related intellectual property.
You may use Blokkd only for your personal, non-commercial use and only in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, modify, or create derivative works based on Blokkd except as permitted by law or with our written permission.
15. User Feedback
If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or feature requests, you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
You are not required to provide feedback, but if you do, you grant us permission to use it to improve Blokkd.
16. No Paid Services
The current version of Blokkd does not process payments, sell subscriptions, or offer paid in-app purchases.
If we add paid features in the future, additional terms may apply and will be provided where required.
