First, you must do all the research, writing, and editing of the information you want to put on the site. This can take many, many hours of time and effort; for a large site, it may take years.:
Then you must choose a domain name (such as MyDomain.com ) for the site, which incurs a small yearly cost to maintain. When using Blogger, you can pay $10 a year for your own domain name, or you can just use your Blogger address for your domain name for free.
Then you must choose a CMS to use in site design and content management. Some CMSs have a cost; however, some of the best, such as Joomla and WordPress, are free. Blogger is free.
Then you must build the site using the CMS. Blogger is easy to use.
Then finally, you must choose a web host to host the site on the internet. This will incur a setup fee and a monthly cost. Google will host your Blogger website for free.
Blogger is a basic blogging system, so it does not have all the bells and whistles of a higher-level CMS that makes it easier to build a large website. Thus, building a large website in Blogger involves a lot of work; however, it is all free, requires little maintenance, and you have Google there to block attackers, which is always a problem for website owners. Thus, when you use Blogger, you almost have a setup and forget website.
