Help Bloc Quebecois be on top and have the majority seats in the House of Commons!
The Bloc Quebecois emerged quickly in 1990 due to the defeat of the Meech Lake Accord
An Accord that would have recognized Quebec as a distinct society and have a say in constitutional changes
First led by Lucien Bouchard, who was previously the Mulroney government's point person during the Meech Lake process (progressive conservative party)
The group formed itself into a party focusing on Quebec sovereignty and the development of their interests through the House of Commons
Giving Quebec the platform to state its issues and concerns
(Malcolmson et al., 2021)
With the help of every Canadian Citizen, Seif Roushdy has the ability to bring the Bloc Quebecois to its full potential – bringing Bloc Quebecois, and Canada as a whole, to the top!
According to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, every Canadian citizen has the right to vote in an election of members of the House of Commons or of a legislative assembly (1982, s 3). Yet, throughout the years, we can see a lower voter turnout at all levels of government.
At the federal level, only 76% of eligible Canadian voters partook in the 2021 election (Government of Canada, 2022)
At the provincial level, Ontario reached the lowest voter turnout in history when the 2022 election had taken place -- with only 43% of eligible voters taking part in the election (DeClerq, 2022)
At the municipal level, there was only a 33% voter turnout for eligible voters during this month of October! (AMO's 2022 Municipal Election Results, 2022)
These recent statistics showcase alarming issues regarding voter turnout. If we truly want a change within our government and the way certain issues are being addressed, more needs to be done to ensure citizens take part in their responsibility of voting.
Keeping such points in mind, Seif Roushdy, the leader of the Bloc Quebecois, is the leader you want to vote for! Seif Roushdy would ensure your vote would not go to waste and allow change to occur within all sectors of government.
