Keynote Speakers

Hinesh Mehta, West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre, UK

Hinesh has been a police officer for over 18 years spending the majority of this investigating crime as a detective, including both CID and murder investigation. As a software engineer in a previous career, Hinesh has always sought to increase police awareness of digital technology and started the countries first Digital Media Investigator Unit. Specialising in cybercrime since 2016, Hinesh was heavily involved with the creation of four new cyber investigation units across the West Midlands region, enabling the police to respond to the everchanging cybercrime risk. More recently, Hinesh was instrumental in developing the West Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre, a public/private sector partnership which aims to prevent businesses becoming victims of cybercrime. In his current role as Detective Inspector of the Regional Cybercrime Unit, Hinesh brings a wealth of knowledge of the reality of cybercrime today.

Dr. Shiping Chen, CSIRO and UNSW, Australia

Dr. Shiping Chen is a principal research scientist at CSIRO Data61, where he is leading a research team dedicated to Blockchain R&D. He also holds a conjoint full professor title with UNSW. He has been working on distributed systems for over 20 years with focus on performance & security. He has published 200+ papers in these research areas and won 5 the best paper awards on top software and distributed systems venues, e.g., ICSE-2018 and CCGrid-2015. He is actively involved in computing research community through journal editorships and conference services, such as PC Chair of ICBC-2019, ECM of IEEE TCBIS and ECM of IEEE TCSVC. Dr. Thomas Martin, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK

Dr. Thomas Martin is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing, Mathematics and Digital Technology. He is a member of the Centre for Advanced Computational Science (CfACS) and contributes to the Greater Manchester Cyber Foundry project. He teaches on various Security and Forensics subjects. He has supervised several PhD students and published numerous papers. His research interests cover topics such as Applications of Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, and Digital Forensics.
