The course cover topics related to blockchain governance; in particular, decentralized infrastructure (protocols for consensus and basic cryptography); decentralized economy (distributed algorithms for a token-based economy); and decentralized governance (decentralized autonomous organizations and social choice theory). In particular, we will discuss Bitcoin, Ethereum, decentralized governance and attention-based social choice and we will have some invited talks as well on related topics.
Conceptually, the course combines theoretical contents with guest lectures from the industry and student presentations.
Administratively, students shall discuss the topics in class, give a presentation, and write a report.
