The Church Cares curriculum was created in response to the outcry of systematic abuse and abuse mishandling within the Southern Baptist Convention (Houston Chronicles articles detail some of the devastation). The curriculum includes both video and text and is rather extensive. I've yet to read it entirely, but it has some strong contributors.
Finding quality counseling can be excruciating. It's important to look for a licensed counselor or psychologist. In cases of abuse or other trauma, it is crucial to also secure a therapist who specializes in trauma. Here are resources I trust to help.
