Monthly News Letter
Dear Burnsville Boys Golf Families,
Thank you to those who attended our Booster Club meeting last night! We’re excited to continue building momentum and wanted to share some important updates and opportunities for involvement.
📅 Next Booster Club Meeting
Date: Thursday, May 22
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Clive’s Roadhouse
All Burnsville Golf Parent's are welcome to attend—we’d love to see you there!
📝 We Need a Secretary!
We’re currently looking for a Secretary to support the Booster Club.
The role includes:
Managing club documents (already organized and ready to go!)
Taking brief meeting minutes at each Booster meeting.
If you’re willing to take on this light but important role, we’d truly appreciate your help. Even if you’re not ready for a specific role, we’d love your participation in any way!
💰Upcoming Fundraisers
We have two fundraising opportunities coming up to help kick-start our support for the team:
1. Chocolate Moose Sales (more details to follow in the next few weeks)
We earn 30% of the revenue—a great way to raise funds quickly!
2. Von Hanson’s Brat & Hot Dog Stand
Dates: June 28–29
More details and sign-ups will be shared soon.
We encourage all players (including seniors!) to participate. It’s a fun experience and a great way for the boys to represent Burnsville Golf to our community.
Special thanks to Beth Mercer for coordinating both fundraisers!
⛳ Booster Club Goals
We’re just getting started—our legal setup is complete, and we’ll soon be ready to raise funds officially. We’re working closely with coaches to identify how we can best support the team on and off the course.
Our long-term goals include:
Enhancing the boys’ experience through team-building activities.
Growing parent participation and involvement.
Building community sponsorships to support and expand the program.
Golf through Burnsville’s program is one of the most affordable and accessible ways for kids to play this lifelong sport. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to get outside, grow friendships, and learn a game they can enjoy forever.
📢 Let’s Make It Easy
Our Booster Club’s role is to support the team while keeping fundraising as simple and painless as possible for all of us parents. We’d love to have your support and input as we grow.
Hope to see you on May 13 at Clive’s Roadhouse!
Go Blaze!

Burnsville Boys Golf Booster Club
The Burnsville Golf Booster Club was founded in 2025 to support the Burnsville Blaze Boys Golf and their program financially. It is chiefly run by the parents of the athletes with support of the golf team coaches. In addition, the booster club supports young golfers by sponsoring the Junior Blaze Golf Classic which is traditionally held in August each year for children ages 8-14 @ Birnamwood Golf Course in Burnsville. For more information or how to get involved, contact one of the booster club members below. Fire up those Irons & Happy golfing!

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
2024-25 Golf Season opportunities TBD
The Booster Club is dedicated to supporting and encouraging our student golfers, fostering both their development and community spirit. By raising and distributing funds, the club helps cover expenses for programs and activities not included in the current Burnsville School District budget. We are committed to ensuring a high-quality experience that promotes the overall growth of our student-athletes.
As parents of players involved in golf, you are a part of the booster club. Parent participation can vary from:
Attending matches
Helping with various events and fundraisers
Taking pictures
Attending Booster meetings
Being an active part of the booster organization and board
It is the expectation of the Boy Golf boosters that as many parents as possible join and contribute in some way.
Additionally: The booster organization does not participate in choosing players or deciding on which team-level athletes will play. Boosters should not expect to be involved in coaching decisions or strategies in any way. All decisions and responses to situations on the golf course are the sole responsibility of the coaching staff. Any issues that a parent and/or booster would like to raise with the coach should be brought up to the head coach at a separate time and place after the conclusion of the athletic contest. Usually, a 24-hour wait time is optimal. Parents and/or boosters who would like to address a lower-level coach please set a meeting time when the head coach can be in attendance.
The welfare and education provided to student-athletes is the primary function of district employees. Because Boosters are not employees, everyone needs to remember that it is the district-employed coaches and officials who are accountable for the services provided by the athletic programs.
The coach and the school should establish priorities for the needs of the athletic program. These priorities should be expressed to the boosters after they have been approved by the athletic director and the principal. The donation of time or money must be in accordance with state, district, CIF-SS, and student body rules and regulations.
Booster club social gatherings and banquets, although generally not considered school-sponsored events, should exemplify/model positive experiences for our student-athletes. In keeping with our educational and health goals, alcohol should not be available or used when students are present.
We greatly encourage everyone to become involved in our Athletic Booster Club!
