Any help on this one is appreciated. I have a Blaupunkt Atlanta (2013) in my Malibu and just bought a Blaupunkt amp (EMA 455) to amp things up a bit. I have four good quality Blaupunkt speakers (separate channel for each) and a separately powered sub. I would like to hook up the Blaupunkt amp to the Atlanta head unit, and wire the speakers downstream of the amp. The Atlanta head unti has two RCA pre-amp outs, and four powered (speaker level) outs. Looking at the diagram in the manual it doesn't look like there's a separate plug-in pre-amp out of any sort (other Blaupunkt head units have a separate plug-in pre-amp out. The amplifier has four RCA jacks for inputs, and also has two sets of "hi-level" inputs (left and right). My questions are:

2. Should I use speaker level signal lines from the head unit to the "hi-level" inputs on the amp? Is that what "hi-level" input means? The manual is in 10 different languages and the English information isn't clear if the "hi-level" inputs are speaker level inputs.
I'm no stereo expert so keeping it simple is helpful. I like Blaupunkt stuff so I'll be sticking with it no matter what, just trying to find a way to make this work as designed so that I get some good quality sound out the speaks.
You can go from the RCA's on the HU to the RCA's on the amp. Yes, you will loose your ability to fade. You may need to split the signal if the amp's channel 1&2 inputs aren't shared with the 3&4 channels. As the HU only puts out 2 volts in the pre-amp section, I would say yes, give the hi level (speaker level) input a try.
Alternatively, you might try installing an EQ/line driver between the HU and the amp. You'd pick up the ability to split the RCA's for fading plus give the amp a cleaner and hotter input. Not to mention some EQ and sub out control.
