Blank Notes is built with a "Privacy First" philosophy. This policy explains how we handle your data.
Blank Notes does not collect, store, or transmit your notes to any external servers.
Local Storage Only: Your notes are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local). They never leave your device.
No Accounts: You do not need to create an account or provide an email address to use the standard features of Blank Notes.
If you purchase a Pro license through Gumroad, the extension will send your License Key and the Product ID to the Gumroad API (api.gumroad.com) to verify your purchase status.
This is the only data the extension transmits.
No personal information from your notes or your browsing history is shared during this process.
Gumroad: We use Gumroad to process payments and verify licenses. Please refer to Gumroad's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle your payment data.
Google Fonts: The extension fetches fonts from Google Fonts to provide a premium writing experience.
The extension uses built-in HTML sanitization to ensure that your notes are rendered safely in Markdown preview and PDF exports, protecting you from malicious scripts.
The extension requires the following permissions to function:
storage: To save your notes and settings locally.
https://api.gumroad.com/*: To verify your Pro license key.
