Blanchard Middle School PTO 

Welcome!

The Blanchard Middle School PTO in Westford, MA is part of WEPTO - Westford PTO. Our parent and teacher volunteers share a common goal: to enhance our school community for the enjoyment and success of our students, teachers, and staff. Be a part of the fun! CURRENT PTO EVENTS

*VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES*

Calling all Blanchard and Stony Brook 8th Grade Parents! We need your help planning the end of year 8th Grade GLOW Dance- Friday June 12th 7pm-9pm @ Westford Academy Cafeteria. We have a virtual planning meeting on Tuesday March 12th at 7:30pm parents interested in helping plan please RSVP HERE 3.12

We have some positions opening up with the graduation of Blanchard 8th graders and parents/students moving on to WA in the fall.  We want to work on projecting the filling of these positions NOW, which ultimately makes everything easier for everyone involved.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!  The sooner you raise your hand, the sooner we can help to prepare you for any of these rewarding roles!

PTO President 2026-2027

Represent the Blanchard PTO, check the PTO email, attend monthly (30 minute) virtual meetings, maintain contact with WEPTO,  help to delegate and facilitate events in conjunction with the Stonybrook PTO President (Please click on bylaws tab for more info)

PTO Treasurer- 2026-2027

Balance and maintain the PTO budget, attend monthly (30 minute) virtual meetings

PTO Arts and Education Coordinator - Shadow in 2026-2027 

Coordinate the scheduling of the 6 Arts and Education programs for Blanchard/Stonybrook students, attend the events (or solicit a volunteer to attend) - Shadowing in 2026 will fully prepare you for maintaining the position in 2027-2028.

PTO Communications Coordinator - 2026-2027

Have a pulse on the PTO happenings, update the PTO website (this one) as needed, post on Facebook, email the principal items that need visibility in the Principal's newsletter

These positions do not take a ton of time, (maybe an hour a week to a couple hours per month), but the positions are necessary to maintain the organization.  

Now is a great time to get involved- WE NEED YOU!

Thursday, March 12, 2026

PJoin us Thursday, March 12 from 3:30-5pm at Westford Academy for this annual showdown!  The afternoon includes students vs. students games and ends with the always exciting students vs. staff match. It's always a SUPER fun afternoon filled with school spirit, friendly competition, and lots of cheering.  

 The PTO is hosting the event and will have snacks for sale. Stony Brook won the trophy last year - help us bring it back! 

Please consider carpooling so more students can attend and support.  Let's show our Blanchard pride!

The next Virtual PTO meeting of the school year is to be held The Stony Brook & Blanchard Middle School Virtual PTO for Wednesday January 21 will be held virtually at 7:15am. All are welcome to join. To learn more, please contact blanchardpto.westford@gmail.com to join the mailing list, for the invite and link to the meeting.

We met our goal in the Blanchard NO FUSS Fundraiser!!! THANK YOU!

Now we can get to work with all the activities we've been discussing along the way! Thank you for your contributions, and making this process as "fuss-less" as possible!


Teacher Appreciation Coffee Cart

On September 26th, after a long school day followed by Back-to-School Night presentations, Blanchard PTO was at the school early this morning to give the teachers a pick-me-up of specialty coffee and teas from the Westford Bakery. 

Special thanks to the parents that helped to set this event up, and those that helped deliver the beverages this morning.

Further thanks to Blanchard families that have able to donate to the No-Fuss Fundraiser! These small tokens of appreciation would not be possible without support of your PTO! If you haven't and are able, we hope you'll consider a donation today!

Arts and Education Programs

Tuesday and Wednesday December 9 and 10

8th Grade Fall 2025 In-Class Program


Scientist Dr. Allison Robinson from the Discovery Museum visits the 8th grade science classes for an exciting hands-on program called Physical Changes of Matter II! The students participate in engaging experiments with sublimation, condensation, dry ice, liquid nitrogen, heat conductivity and more!

The Blanchard PTO is applying for a grant from the Westford Cultural Council, a division of the Mass Cultural Council, to make this program possible.

Friday, November 7

7th Grade Fall 2025 Program


On Friday November 7, Egyptologist Paulette Morin presented to the Blanchard 7th graders about Ancient Egypt with her renowned program Pyramids and Pharaohs! This Blanchard favorite is interactive and engaging, aligned with and enhancing the current curriculum unit on Egypt in 7th Grade Social Studies classes.

The Blanchard PTO is applying for a grant from the Westford Cultural Council, a division of the Mass Cultural Council, to make this program possible.

Thursday, October 23

6th Grade Fall 2025 Program


Renowned author Jack Gantos visited 6th graders on Thursday, October 23rd to discuss the creative writing process. The kids were inspired as this Newberry award winning author of over 60 children's and young adult books shares his tips and tricks for being a great writer. 


This program is made possible for supporters of the PTO, and we THANK YOU for your support!

8th Grade Spring 2026 Program

We hope that Blanchard can enjoy a performance of a Midsummer Night's Dream!

The Blanchard 8th graders study this play by Shakespeare, and can watch the play spring to life before their eyes during a live performance from the Boston Theater Company! We our waiting for the procuction list to be released for this year, but it is our hope to bring this program back to Blanchard in the spring. This is a wonderful way to solidify the learning that's taking place in the classroom in a fun and meaningful way.  Stay tuned!

7th Grade Spring 2026 Program

Friday, May 22nd, Blanchard 7th graders will enjoy a performance of Mythmasters!

MythMasters supplements the student's 7th grade units on Greek mythology and explores the stories of Phaeton and Helios, Orpheus and Eurydice, and Echo and Narcissus. Through a skillful blend of mime, comedy, drama, puppetry, masks, music, reverence, irreverence, and lots of audience participation, the gods and goddesses, heroes and villains, monsters and maidens of Greek mythology walk the earth once more.

6th Grade Spring 2026 Program

 New Inca Son visits Blanchard’s 6th graders on March 23rd, bringing the music, culture and the arts of the Andes. The energy in the auditorium is always wonderful and inspires musicians and non-musicians alike! Support of this program is funded through a grant from the Westford Cultural Council, a division of the Mass Cultural Council, and by Blanchard families and friends!  Thank you for your support in making programs like this possible for the Blanchard students!

2025-26 Blanchard PTO Meetings:

All are welcome to join our virtual meetings at which will be held virtually via Zoom on the 3rd or 4th Wednesday of each month from 7:15-7:45am.  The next meeting is Wednesday March 25 at 7:15am. Following tentative meeting dates are April 15, May 20, and June 10.  To receive the meeting link, please email blanchardpto.westford@gmail.com.
