An outdoor furnace is a heating system designed to be located outside the building it heats, at a desired distance. The unit comprises a firebox encased within an insulated water jacket, all protected by a durable metal exterior.

Legend Outdoor Wood Furnaces offers high-quality models optimized for both wood and coal. While sharing identical dimensions, each model is specifically tailored for its respective fuel type to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Heat generated in the firebox is transferred to the surrounding water jacket via an internal double-pass flue system. An aquastat precisely controls combustion, maintaining the water temperature within a desired range. The heated water is then circulated through insulated pipes from the furnace to the building. Outdoor furnaces can seamlessly integrate with or entirely replace most existing indoor heating systems.

Unlike traditional indoor heating systems that primarily heat their immediate vicinity, outdoor furnaces provide evenly distributed heat throughout your entire home. By integrating with existing forced air or hot water systems, they maintain consistent temperatures across all rooms.

Wood is a fully renewable resource. When burned, it results in no net increase in carbon dioxide, as CO2 is part of the natural plant growth cycle and is also released when plants decompose. In contrast, burning fossil fuels contributes to a net increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide, which is linked to the "greenhouse effect."
