Blade is the simple, yet powerful templating engine that is included with Laravel. Unlike some PHP templating engines, Blade does not restrict you from using plain PHP code in your templates. In fact, all Blade templates are compiled into plain PHP code and cached until they are modified, meaning Blade adds essentially zero overhead to your application. Blade template files use the .blade.php file extension and are typically stored in the resources/views directory.

Similar to inline components, anonymous components provide a mechanism for managing a component via a single file. However, anonymous components utilize a single view file and have no associated class. To define an anonymous component, you only need to place a Blade template within your resources/views/components directory. For example, assuming you have defined a component at resources/views/components/alert.blade.php, you may simply render it like so:

You may use the . character to indicate if a component is nested deeper inside the components directory. For example, assuming the component is defined at resources/views/components/inputs/button.blade.php, you may render it like so:

Thankfully, Blade allows you to place an index.blade.php file within a component's template directory. When an index.blade.php template exists for the component, it will be rendered as the "root" node of the component. So, we can continue to use the same Blade syntax given in the example above; however, we will adjust our directory structure like so:

When component paths are registered without a specified prefix as in the example above, they may be rendered in your Blade components without a corresponding prefix as well. For example, if a panel.blade.php component exists in the path registered above, it may be rendered like so:

According to his earliest appearances in the original The Tomb of Dracula comics, Blade relied on teakwood daggers which he used to impale opponents, and a variety of mahogany stakes. He was an excellent hand-to-hand combatant and knife-fighter. Later comics upgraded his arsenal significantly over the years, including a variety of different bladed weapons ranging from long swords to katanas, as well as guns, flamethrowers, and UV and silver-based weapons. He relies mainly on a double-edged sword he carries on his back. He has also had some success with improvised weapons, such as stakes made from snapped brooms and, after losing his hand, a replacement appendage made from duct tape and a pointed stick. He would replace this with a new machine gun-esque firearm used in place of his missing hand, which responds to different muscle twitches as an indication of reloading and firing, among other functions (including a grappling hook, which Blade describes as his "favorite feature"). It also uses three different kinds of ammo. This weapon was created by S.H.I.E.L.D.[63] Blade also had an arsenal of EMP grenades.

Much in the same way as in the comics,[64] in the movie series, Blade employs a stylized double-edged sword as one of his main offense and defense tools. Although not much detail is specified in the comics about the composition of the sword, in the films, it is equipped with an acid-etched titanium blade that has a security feature that will release blades into the wielder's hand after a set time. This is aborted by Blade or others who know of the system by pushing a hidden switch in the sword's hilt. The movies also depict him wielding varieties of throwable "glaives" (boomerang- or chakram-like weapons which return when thrown), different knives, silver stakes, and firearms. He also uses specialized weapons, such as throwable injector canisters filled with an anticoagulant which is explosively lethal to vampires, and extendable injector spikes worn on the back of the hand.

In addition to all his above skills and powers, Blade's swordsmanship in particular is shown in Marvel Anime to be especially advanced.[65] Blade's sword-style revolves mainly around his mastery of Yagu Shinkage-ryu, a kenjutsu art that can unleash powerful shockwaves or transparent wind blades from his sword swings, allowing him to blast or slice respectively his opponents from a distance. The Yagu Shinkage-ryu also has three principal Yagyu techniques. The first technique, "The First Blade: Residual Moon", draws a small circle with the tip of his sword, producing a perfectly tangible after-image of himself for diversions. The second technique, "The Second Blade: Phantom Moon", involves a high-speed spin, allowing Blade to launch an omnidirectional slash in rapid succession with such intensity that it sets his strike ablaze. The final technique, "The Third Blade: Chaotic Moon", launches several shadow blades around the opponent, hiding the user's attack path with little chance of being noticed.

While blade type plays a role in the overall load of the rig, you should not try to adjust overall load by blade type. Instead, fine-tune the overall load using oar length, spread and inboard adjustments.

Retreating blade stall is a hazardous and damaging flight condition in helicopters and other rotary wing aircraft, where the rotor blade on the retreating side of the rotor disc in forward flight and therefore with the smaller resultant relative wind exceeds the critical angle of attack. Retreating blade stall is one of the primary limiting factors in a helicopter's airspeed, and the reason even the fastest helicopters can only fly slightly faster than 200 knots (about 370 km/h) though various changes can be made to conventional helicopters to try to overcome this limit such as streamlining, lifting surfaces and secondary forward propulsion.

Due to differences in blade tolerances the stall may occur on one blade before the others giving an increase in 1R (once per rotation) vibration and a visible track split. As other blades stall a nR vibration will build (where n is the number of rotor blades). This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by all appearances, Webb could have made it yesterday.

The white flint blade is hand knapped to a sharp edge. Webb used a traditional technique to hold the blade in place - black pitch. The handle ancient walrus ivory that is between 6000 and 9000 years old. Deep colors have leached into the ivory from surrounding soil over the centuries.

The knife is accompanied by a presentation stand. During the early to mid 1800s, Yupic Eskimos used ancient walrus ivory for a wide range of tools including fire starters, fishing weights, halibut hooks, and sled runners. A section of artifact Yupic sled runner is set on a wood base. Mounting holes and general shape from its former purpose as a sled runner are intact.

The Wa-kamisori, Japanese straight razor, is a perfect example of the Japanese aesthetic. This razor was produced in the workshop of bladesmith Shigeyoshi Iwasaki (b. 1933), in cooperation with his apprentice Ryoichi Mizuochi. Shigeyoshi-san is the son of renowned metallurgist and sword researcher, Hiroshi Iwasaki, who is well respected as a leading authority on traditional forging techniques. Shigeyoshi Iwasaki is considered by many to be the greatest straight razor maker of all time. His work is quite simply beyond compare.

Made of the finest carbon steel and fire-forged with Rentetsu iron (wrought iron), the blade is polished with natural sharpening stones. The blade bear's Iwasake's mark on the back of the blade.
