Olive Frey
Responsible for running the theatre company, working closely with each member of the board to make sure every event runs smoothly. The Board President manages each board member to make sure they have what they need and know what to do, and often takes charge in planning things from crew days to fundraisers to our social media campaign.
Olive has been a part of BRTC since she was in 7th grade, and this is her third year serving on the board. She's been seen previously as Molly in Peter and the Starcatcher, Mrs. Clackett in Noises Off, and Lucy Grant in Bright Star. Outside of theater, she likes to play video games, read, bake, and play with her puppy floss. She is thrilled about being this season's president and is excited for what this year has in store for her.
William Villegas
Responsible for keeping the life and spirit of our shows alive for as long as BRTC exists. The Head of Archives and their team takes headshots of the cast, pictures and video of shows, and manages the website.
William has been a dedicated member of the BRTC since 2025. His first role as Grempkin, from Peter and the Starcatcher, made a spark for theater. He has loved every show he has been in since. His favorite role was Dr. Von Sochocky in Radium Girls. In his free time, he loves to ding, draw, and play basketball.
Maggie VanTil
Responsible for breathing color and life into our shows, letting both the audience and the actors become immersed in the world on the stage. The Head of Art and their team carefully paints almost everything you see on stage.
Maggie has been involved with the BRTC since 2023. Some of her favorite shows she's done are Les Misérables, Radium Girls, and a Broadway Bootcamp production of Urinetown. She enjoys playing her guitar, singing, coloring, and playing with her 2 dogs Max and Daisy. I also like purple too..so (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Krystal Gardea
Responsible for immersing both audience and actors in the world on stage through clothes! The Head of Costumes and their team hunts for every piece you see actors wearing, making what they can't find, from hats, to shirts, to wedding dresses, to mermaid tails.
Kryztal is a new member to the BRTC board as she joins as Head of Costumes in her senior year. Her favorite role has been Alice Murphy in Brightstar (2026). She likes to go thrift shopping, sip on fun drinks, write poetry, long walks on the beach, and loves a good movie. She is super duper excited for this year and hopes that this will be the best year yet visually and organizationally for the department of costumes!
Spider Sinclair
Responsible for making sure every audience member can see every detail of an actor's expression, bringing them life. The Head of Hair and Makeup and their team makes sure every cast member has makeup, knows how to use it, and styles their hair appropriately for each show.
While Spider has been on stage for over a decade, they really shine working behind the scenes. Due to their theatre background, they have been doing makeup since they were 6, and are so excited to use their skills on everyone this year! In their free time, you'll find Spider being employed, playing guitar, studying the sciences, dancing at a concert, and dedicating as much time as they can to their passions. Spider is a huge music fan, has seen all of their favorite artists live, and went to 6 concerts in the summer of '26! Spider's favorite shows they have worked on are Big Fish and Mamma Mia, and their favorite shows they have been in are The Somewhat True Tale of Robinhood, and Bright Star.
Roxana Johnson
Responsible for making sure every little detail on stage is perfect, from books to flowers to weapons to cash! The Head of Props and their team makes sure every piece of the theatre puzzle is on stage and readily available, hunting thrift shops for some and building others themselves.
Roxy has been in theatre since the sixth grade and has never felt so welcomed from a group of people. Since joining BRTC, she's done 7 shows with her favorite role being Kathryn from Radium Girls. In her free time she's always making art if it's painting or carving out foam, she also plays the guitar and is a pretty awful skateboarder. She is always so grateful for the wonderful people around her:)
Seth Ortega-Schultz
Responsible for sharing the wonders of the Black River Theatre Company with the world. The Head of Public Relations and their team manages the BRTC social media accounts and advertises for every show.
Seth has been a consistent member of the BRTC since 2022, he has received the newbie award, 2 middle school achievement awards, the middle school director’s award, a varsity letter, and two pins. Some of Seth’s favorite roles with the company have been Billy Cane in Bright Star, Pepper in Mamma Mia!, and Peter in Peter And The Starcatcher. Seth is excited to be the Head of Public Relations for a second year, and hopes to be the BRTC President next year!
Dax Dirkse
Responsible for building up the world of every show nearly from scratch, and keeping it safe for everyone involved. The Head of Set and their team builds everything you see on stage.
Dax has been a part of the theatre company since he joined Black River in 2022, and has been a part of every show since. He loves to do theater, but what he loves the most about it is the people. He thinks they're simply the nicest, funniest, and just the best people to be around. Some of his favorite roles have been Mr. Thenardier in Les Miserables, Robin Hood in The Somewhat True Tale Of Robin Hood, And Garry Lejeune in Noise Off!
Reece Rizma Magrata
Responsible for bringing each new generation of theatre kids, keeping BRTC alive. The Middle School Representative visits middle school classes often to encourage them to join theatre.
Even though Reece was a newbie to BR in their 6th grade year, they stayed consistent with the BRTC and wound up as middle school rep. They've been seen as Ensemble (brightstar) and Chicken Licken (stinky cheese man) in BRTC's 25-26 season. Reece loves to yap, eyeshadow, their friends. They're EXTREMELY excited to continue their theatre journey.
