I have over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. Expertise with challenging projects, especially in heavy civil, marine, and bridge construction in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Also, coastal construction such as dredging, beach replenishment, and flood protection projects. I have had a diverse career in the contracting, consulting, and owners realms which I believe gives me a unique outlook on seeing problems from all sides. I have been in involved in field engineering, construction engineering, project and contract management, and design management roles along the way. In the past 6 years I have been involved with providing constructability reviews for the City of Virginia Beach and have noticed a large discrepancy between engineers estimates from consultants and my estimates while performing these constructability reviews. 

The original mission for the inception of Blackfin Engineering Services is to provide a service to design consultants in which engineers estimates are developed with constructability in mind and doing so will provide the consultant and owner a more accurate estimates for budgetary concerns for capital improvement projects. Using a construction-focused engineering mindset is a holistic approach to project development. In doing so, estimates will incorporate the safest-to-construct, simplest and most cost effective solutions, reducing risks of schedule delays and design-driven cost overruns that adversely affect project delivery. This mission has been extended to fulfill the needs of Contractors with various project management services.
