I'm Dori, a Special Needs Educator, Behavioral Therapist and Graphic Designer from Hungary.

I grow up in Mezőkövesd, the heart of the beautiful matyó folklore. I'm gladly using this traditional style in my art. 

The Festival of Illustrations was established in 2019 with the aim of representing the diversity and innovative power of Hungarian illustration and graphic design.

More than 3,000 illustrations were submitted for the competition held for the 3rd time in 2023, so it was a great honor for me that my works were also selected among the best.

I entered the contest in the poetry illustration category, which honours two famous Hungarian poets and authors, Petőfi Sándor and Madách Imre.

For my professional qualification exam I created a 52 page book called 'Tale of the Lost Eyes', which consists of illustrations and poetry.

The theme was inspired by José Saramago's novel: Blindness. The book won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1998.

Blindness appears as an allegory in the novel and through the motif the writer discusses social and interpersonal problems. The novel touched me deeply, because I had never analyzed these problems from Saramago's approach.

All of this inspired me to express the writer's thoughts in illustrations and poems.
