This Privacy Policy explains how BlackCoffeeTechnology ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Kcal — AI Calorie Counter mobile application ("Kcal", the "App"). This policy is specific to Kcal and, where it conflicts with our general developer privacy policy, this policy governs.
Kcal is an AI-powered calorie and nutrition tracker. To provide features such as account sync, AI food analysis, activity import, and ads, Kcal collects and processes certain data as described below.
Account information. When you sign in with Google or email, we collect your email address, display name, profile photo, and a unique user ID. You may also use the App as an anonymous guest, in which case only an anonymous user ID is created (no email or name).
Profile & health information. Height, weight, age, gender, activity level, and your goal (lose / maintain / gain).
Food & nutrition logs. Meals you log by text, photo, or barcode; calories, macronutrients, water intake, saved meals, and meal plans.
Weight history.
Photos. If you use photo logging, the food images you capture or select.
Advertising ID. For ads (see section 6), your device's advertising ID is collected and shared with our advertising partner.
Usage & analytics data. App events, feature usage, and device/app information via our analytics provider.
Diagnostics / crash data. Device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash, via our crash-reporting provider.
Device identifiers. A device installation ID and an app-integrity token used to protect our services from abuse.
With your permission, Kcal reads activity data from Android Health Connect: steps, total and active calories burned, distance, and exercise sessions. This data is used only to display your activity in the App and, optionally, to add burned calories to your daily budget.
We do not use Health Connect data for advertising or marketing.
We do not sell Health Connect data or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
You can grant or revoke this access at any time in Health Connect or system Settings.
Provide and personalize the App's core features (logging, goals, dashboards, reminders, meal plans).
Estimate nutrition from your text and photos using AI (see section 5).
Back up and sync your data across your devices.
Analyze usage to improve the App and diagnose crashes.
Show ads to support the free App (see section 6).
Send service-related notifications (e.g., reminders you enable).
To estimate calories and macros, the text descriptions and food photos you submit are sent to a third-party AI service provider (Google) for analysis. Results are estimates you can review and edit before saving. Photos you log may be stored securely in your account so they appear in your history.
Kcal may display ads through Google's advertising service. To do so, it collects and uses your device's advertising ID and ad-interaction data and shares it with Google for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Ads may be personalized depending on your device and regional settings.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device's Settings → Google → Ads.

Your account and logged data are stored on our cloud service provider's servers (Google) and associated with your account.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
With service providers that process data on our behalf — mainly Google, for cloud storage & sync, analytics, crash reporting, and AI processing — and our advertising partner.
With a third-party product database: when you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to look up product nutrition. No personal data is sent.
When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Kcal relies on third-party providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Google — cloud storage & sync, analytics, crash reporting, AI processing, and advertising. Privacy Policy · Ad technologies
Android Health Connect — activity data you choose to share (see section 3). Privacy Policy
A third-party product database (Open Food Facts) — barcode nutrition lookups. Terms of use
We retain your data while your account is active. You can:
Delete individual entries at any time in the App.
Delete your entire account and data in the App under Settings → Delete account, which permanently removes your cloud data, your authentication account, and local app data.
Alternatively, request deletion by emailing blackcoffeetechnology@gmail.com.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We use an app-integrity mechanism to help prevent unauthorized access to our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Kcal is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. By using Kcal, you consent to such transfers.
Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to certain processing. Use the in-app controls or contact us to exercise these rights.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
