I've been using the BlackBerry launcher since the KeyOne came out. I am now on a Sony Xperia and still using the BlackBerry launcher. There has not been an update to the launcher since 2019. I haven't had any issues with the launcher until recently. The problem is small but somewhat annoying; shortcut website links that I save to the home screen disappear. I have tried restarting the phone, clearing the cache of the BlackBerry launcher, clearing the cache of the BlackBerry Hub (which I also use.) Has anyone else had this problem and figured out a solution? Are there any alternative launchers similar to BlackBerry launcher? Thanks

Another fun feature that is built-in is the ability to use third party icon packs from the Google Play Store to customize the look of the default launcher. This is something that you can normally do only with another third party launcher, and having it available here is a nice touch.

The Google search bar is tied to the launcher that comes with the Fairphone OS on the FP3. There are many alternative launchers out there - you might want to give Lawn Chair a try for a start. Available from the Play Store

For those new to Android, the "Launcher" is made up of your home screens and the apps menu. You can install different launchers to change the behaviour of your device, but the BlackBerry Launcher is very good, and packed with unique features.

The Home button on the Priv also acts as a quick launcher for three distinct shortcuts. Holding it down brings up three icons for quick access to features such Device Search, Google Now, and BlackBerry Hub. This is customizable, however, meaning you can select whatever you want. Google Now does remain assigned by default, but the other two are wide open. Either one can be assigned to a specific app or to carry out a specific shortcut, like sending an email or text message.

To get the Priv's calendar, keyboard, and launcher, and all you need is Android 5.0.1 or above and "Unknown sources" enabled on your phone. Once the files are downloaded, just tap on their notification (or on the file from a file manager) and follow the installation instructions. 006ab0faaa
