Located in Mountain Home, North Carolina. Our family tradition of woodworking and bowl turning was started by my dad, Mark Coyne. He and Jacob began turning together and after many months of perfecting their techniques, Black Bear Woodworks was born.
Lindsey & Jacob currently keep the shop spinning. Please send us a social media or Etsy message if you have a question or a specific request. We work with most domestic woods such as walnut, oak, and cherry. We can usually find exotics if you have a special project in mind!
In Loving Memory
1952-2022
Dad started working with his hands at a very young age. He was an engineer and spent most of his career working on generators and RVs. Wood working was a creative outlet and favorite passtime for 50+ years. Dad taught us his skills and we are proud to carry on the tradition.
Noah is our shop dog. He enjoys hanging out while we turn and getting covered in saw dust. He is the inspiration for our business name and is lovingly referred to as "the big black bear."
