black m(othering

lil friends home base

I have been awarded a 2023-2024 Wilma Gibbs Moore fellowship from Indiana Humanities. I will spend the next year swimming through metaphoric waters, studying black m(othering in Indiana, reading the archives and black Hoosiers across time and space and access, traveling the state and listening to black m(others, making some cool shit together and paying all contributing black folks equitably

To do so, I plan to leverage the fellowship funds 1:1 to apply for relevant grants and raise additional funding in/with community. The fellowship award is for $5000, $4500 is disbursed immediately upon signed MOU and $500 is disbursed upon submitting a final project report in June 2024. My goal is to find and fund an additional $5000 in the coming months.
