Punjabi University is a collegiate state public university located in Patiala, Punjab, India. It was established on 30 April 1962 and is only the second university in the world to be named after a language, after the Hebrew University of Israel. Originally it was conceived as a unitary multi-faculty teaching and research university, primarily meant for developing and enriching the Punjabi language and culture, but alive to the social and education requirements of the state.
Panjab University (PU) is a collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh, India. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a state university. It traces its origins to the University of Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the university was established on October 1, 1947, and called East Punjab University. Initially housed primarily at a cantonment in Solan, it later relocated to a newly built campus in Chandigarh, and was renamed Panjab University.
The university has 78 teaching and research departments and 10 centres/chairs for teaching and research at the main campus located in Chandigarh. It has 188 affiliated colleges spread over the eight districts of Punjab state and the union territory of Chandigarh, with Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur cities in Punjab state. It is one of the well-ranked universities in India.
The campus is residential, spread over 550 acres (220 ha) in sectors 14 and 25 of the city of Chandigarh. The main administrative and academic buildings are located in sector 14, beside a health centre, a sports complex, hostels and residential housing.
The Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) is a public university in India. It is ranked 1 in Bihar and ranked 92 in India according to the uniRank 2021 ranking. Beginning in 1972, the university initially functioned from the Mohanpur House at Sara Mohanpur village of the Darbhanga-Sakri route. In 1975, it was shifted to the campus belonging to Raj Darbhanga.
The university is in Darbhanga town, Mithila, an ancient cultural region of North India lies between the lower range of the Himalayas and the Ganges river. The university imparts education in fields such as humanities, social science, life science, commerce, and medicine, with both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. More than 400 faculties are engaged in teaching and research.

Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University (B. N. Mandal University) is the state government university situated at district headquarters, Madhepura. B. N. Mandal University, Madhepura came into existence on the 10th of January, 1992. It acts as an affiliating institution and offers undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs through its constituents, affiliated colleges, and institutes in Madhepura and nearby cities. The university conducts various vocational and technical courses in Science, commerce, and arts and also in engineering and Medical science.
