A lecture series on “The future of Indian democracy” was organized by the Department of Political Science of Dr. B.K.B. College, Puranigudam on the 10th of April, 2021. Over 150 participants registered for the first episode of the lecture series and almost 80 participants including academicians, research scholars, and students, participated through the Google Meet platform. The objective of the online lecture series is to analyze the various aspects of democracy and to discuss the future of Indian democracy. The first episode of the lecture series was started with the introductory speech, delivered by Dr. Nripen Ch. Das, Principal of the college. Dr. Phyobenthung, Head of the Department of Political Science, Fazl Ali College, Nagaland delivered his insightful speech on the topic “Democracy: An overview”. In his speech, he has focused on different issues which are related to democracy.

The participants were very active during the sessions. The resource persons answered the numerous queries of the participants. The first episode of the lecture series came to an end with the concluding words of Ankur Bania, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Dr. B.K.B. College, Puranigudam.
