Coach Kerns is in his 10th year as the head coach at Bishop Kelly High School. During his time, the Knights have a record of 176-79, have won 5 District Championships, have finished 2nd at State ('15, '16), 3rd ('17, '21, '24), and 4th ('22), and have competed at state in 9 out of 10 years.
In his 10 years of being the head coach, Coach Kerns has earned 4, 4A SIC coach of the year awards in 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023 respectively.
Coach Kerns has coached 6 players that have gone on to play at the next level at the NAIA level to NCAA Division 1.
Prior to being the head coach, Ryan was a varsity assistant for 8 years. Ryan is also a Bishop Kelly graduate class of 2001.
