A Message From BJ's Art Teacher, Suzanne Frazier
BJ expressed her love of music through her art. Her work always had a sense of "rhythm" in her expression. One of her favorite images she created was her beloved banjo. The banjo appeared in many of her oil pastels, either as a recognizable image or abstracted. Through her use of images or the oil pastel marks on the paper, her work always was filled with rhythm.
Every month for years, BJ joined the Saturday Creativity Workshop and created two oil pastel drawings. At lunch, in between the art sessions, she would share information about her up-coming performance or the latest piece she was composing.
She shared her love of composing music, playing her banjo and guitar, and creating artwork about the rhythm inside her.
Her spirit was filled with music.
