At BJ’s Auto Glass, we specialize exclusively in the structural repair of laminated automotive windshields. We do not perform full windshield replacements. Our services are strictly focused on restoring structural integrity and halting the spread of minor road debris damage using professional-grade UV-curable resins.
To ensure a safe and successful repair, the damage must meet the following strict sizing and location guidelines prior to the start of service:
Rock Chips & Complex Breaks: The core impact area (including Bullseyes, Star Breaks, Half-Moons, and Combination Breaks) must be completely covered by the size of a standard U.S. Quarter (approximately 1 inch in diameter).
Small Cracks: Single-line fractures must be shorter than the length of a standard U.S. Dollar Bill (6 inches in length).
Layer Depth: The fracture or chip must be entirely contained within the outer layer of the laminated glass. Damage that penetrates the plastic vinyl interlayer or shatters the inner pane cannot be repaired.
Long/Extended Cracks: An extended crack is a continuous structural fracture that exceeds 6 inches in length (longer than a standard U.S. Dollar Bill), often running halfway or completely across the windshield.
The Reality: These severely damage the windshield's strength. They normally require a full replacement.
Our "Last Resort" Attempt: By request, we can try to fill and seal a long crack to save you the high cost of a new windshield and camera recalibration. You should consider trying this step one towards getting a new windshield!
Guarantee: This exception work is completely excluded from our lifetime guarantee. Consider it a best-effort attempt. If it spreads later, the windshield must be replaced. however, this is a Risk-Free attempt. If you are unsatisfied with the results at the time of the service, there is no fee. However, once the work is accepted and paid for, no warranty or future refunds apply.
Pre-Inspection: Visual inspection and mechanical probing of the break to clear away loose glass shards, road dust, and moisture.
Vacuum & Pressure Injection: Mounting of specialized bridge equipment to vacuum air out of the fracture and inject high-quality optical resin under precise pressure.
UV Curing: Application of a high-intensity ultraviolet light source to completely harden and bond the resin to the surrounding glass.
Finishing: Scraping the surface flush with a razor blade and polishing the impact pit for maximum optical clarity.
A windshield repair is fundamentally designed to restore structural safety and prevent the damage from spreading. A repair is not an invisible cosmetic fix. Customers should expect a minor visual "scar" or structural outline remaining where the glass was originally fractured. Depending on the age of the chip and accumulated road debris, the final appearance can improve by 70% to 95%, but it will not completely disappear.
Windshields are under immense internal and external structural tension, which is highly magnified once the glass is cracked or chipped.
The "Pop-Out" Risk: During the mechanical process of flexing the glass to inject resin under pressure, there is an inherent, unavoidable risk that the crack or chip may suddenly expand or "run" across the windshield.
Liability: BJ’s Auto Glass takes every professional precaution to prevent this from happening. However, if the damage spreads during an attempted repair due to pre-existing structural weakness, BJ’s Auto Glass is not liable for the cost of a replacement windshield or any subsequent ADAS camera recalibrations. In this rare event, no fee will be charged to the customer for the attempted repair.

If a chip or small crack successfully repaired by BJ’s Auto Glass ever begins to spread or fail beyond the original boundaries of the repair site, we will fulfill our guarantee through the following remedy:
Store Credit Refund: We will issue a full 100% refund of the original price paid for the repair.
Credited to Replacement: If you choose to have the windshield replaced in the future, the full amount paid for our repair can alternatively be applied as a direct cash credit toward a replacement windshield with one of our trusted local replacement partners.
Subsequent impacts, new rock chips, or new cracks occurring on other parts of the windshield, even if they are adjacent to the original repair.
Visual dissatisfaction regarding the remaining cosmetic "scar" of a structurally sound, non-spreading repair.
Windshields that break or crack further due to vehicle accidents, structural shifting of the car frame, or extreme hail.
