"Bits With Teens" is a community engagement program that is part of the university course, Social Engagement (GIG1005) created by its students from the Department of Information System and Data Science. This program aims to exchange computer science awareness with teenagers. The mentors for this program will be university students and the mentees will from primary and secondary school.
This program teaches mentees about computer science by hands-on methods and fun games. The modules designed for this program enlighten the belief of learning Computer Science without a computer. Meaning to say that Computer Science can also be thought through concepts. The activities will cover four topics to introduce the basic concept in computer science which are flow charts, cryptography, numeral system and Java programming language.
Following the new norm, this program will be conducted through an online approach by sharing videos and activities that have been planned.
To share and communicate with students on the knowledge of computer science.
To create a fun learning STEM environment under the computer science domain.
To inculcate continuous interest in learning through mentor-mentee activities.
