BITS 2019

International Workshop on Big Data for Intelligent Transportation Systems

In conjunction with IEEE BigData 2019

December 9-12, 2019, Los Angeles, CA, USA

The world is experiencing a remarkable growth in the amount of data generated by physical sensors, such as traffic video streams, and by humans, such as social media posts. The goal of the workshop is to bring together diverse research communities that apply big data generated by such seemingly disparate sources, especially in the rapidly evolving domain of connected and automated vehicles and infrastructure systems (CAVIS). The data being used should at least satisfy one of the 3 V's of the Gartner's definition of big data, i.e., high volume, high velocity or high variety.

The workshop provides a forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry, and government to present their latest research findings in major and emerging areas of the use of big data for intelligent transportation systems. BITS 2019 is supported by The Alabama Transportation Institute at The University of Alabama.
