Bio

Hello!

My name is Aubin Knowlton. I am a Portland native and an active outdoors-woman. I'm delighted to be student teaching at Franklin High School through the end of 2017. I am currently working on my Masters in Teaching at Concordia University and I am scheduled to graduate in April of 2018.

Prior to my MAT program, I studied Psychology at Portland State University and received my BA in 2011. I worked in a number of treatment facilities and non-profit organizations with adolescents who were suffering from Substance use disorders. I'm very passionate about the issue, and presently sit on the Board of Directors for Oregon's first Recovery High School, a charter that is scheduled to open in 2020.

Additionally, I spent a few years in Bangkok, Thailand teaching English. It was this transformative experience that inspired me to come home and work on my Masters. I hope to go back one day soon to visit all of my incredible students.

It has been an honor to be at Franklin High School this term and to be working with Pam Garrett. I'm looking forward to more adventures in teaching, starting with The Odyssey unit November and December of this year.

Thank you for visiting my website. Please contact me with any questions!

Best,

Aubin Knowlton
