Everything that you need to know to build recipes and shopping lists!
Get help for the following topics
Tap on the top right "+" in the Recipes tab.
Fill in the name and pick a category. (Tags are optional)
Tap on "Add Ingredients" to go to the next screen.
Fill in all the ingredients for your recipe and tap "Add Directions" to go to the next screen.
Fill in the directions for your recipe and tap "Go to Overview" to go to the next screen.
Review your recipe to make sure everything is correct. You can easily make adjustments to everything before creating your recipe.
Once you feel your recipe is ready, tap "Add Recipe"
You should now be able to see your recipe in the Recipe tab!
Start by tapping on any recipe in the Recipe tab.
You can easily change the name by change the text inside of the "Name" field.
Taping on the yellow edit button will allow you to update the recipe category or recipe tag.
Switching tabs at the top will allow you to change the ingredients, directions or adding a variant to your recipe.
You changes are not final until you tap on the "Update Recipe" button!
In the Shopping List tab, tap on the top right "+" button.
Add a name to your shopping list and fill in your ingredients you want to add.
Once everything is filled in, tap on "Add Shopping List" to make it final!
Tap on one of your current shopping lists.
Tap on any of the ingredients to make changes to them.
You can also add more ingredients by tapping on the top "+" button.
Long press the shopping list name to make changes to the name.
Tap on "Update Shopping List" to make the changes final.
Note: Tapping on the checkmarks are saved instantly and don't require tapping on "Update Shopping List".
Starting importing ingredients to your shopping list by tapping on one of your shopping lists or tap on the "+" button in the shopping list tap to create a new shopping list.
Tap on the import button to show the recipe picker screen.
After tapping on a recipe, those ingredients are added to your shopping list! Note that ingredients with the same name and unit of measurement will automatically be added together.
Finally tap on the "Update Shopping List" or "Add Shopping List" button to make the changes final.
To export ingredients to your shopping list, tap on a recipe you would like to add to a shopping list or create a new shopping list from.
Go to the "Ingredients" tab and tap on the export button.
Select an existing shopping list or tap on the "+" button to create a new shopping list.
In both cases, the ingredients from your recipe should be added to your shopping list.
Tap on "Update Shopping List" or "Add Shopping List" to make the changes final.
Tap the 📷 button.
Either take a picture or choose an existing one.
Pull the bottom right corner of the crop box to adjust it. You can easily drag the crop box by dragging anywhere inside the box.
Once the crop box is around the ingredients, tap "Crop Ingredients" to crop them from the image. Alternatively, if your image already shows only ingredients, you can tap "Use Full Image" to go to the next step and skip the cropping.
The next screen shows you your cropped selection to make sure everything is cropped correctly. Tap "Extract Ingredients" to start the process of pulling the ingredients from the image.
The last screen will show you the extracted ingredients. Note: Not all ingredients may be extracted due to the text not getting picked up or in a wrong format. The format of the ingredients that works best is [Amount] [Unit of measurement] [Ingredient name]. Tapping on any of the ingredients allows you to change them. You can also tap on the "+" button to add any missing ingredients.
Tap the 📷 button.
Either take a picture or choose an existing one.

Once the crop box is around the directions, tap "Crop Directions" to crop them from the image. Alternatively, if your image already shows only directions, you can tap "Use Full Image" to go to the next step and skip the cropping.
The next screen shows you your cropped selection to make sure everything is cropped correctly. Tap "Split Directions" split the image up per directions to make sure they are easier to pick up.
You should now see the same image as before but with green lines that should be between the different directions. This is to split the image up before extracting the directions to maximize accuracy. They may be not perfectly between directions. If so, you can easily drag them. Long press the ↕icon to see a menu to add or remove split lines. Once all the split lines are in place, tap "Extract Directions" to go to the final screen.
The last screen will show you the extracted directions. These should be the correct order but if not, you can edit the order by tapping on the "Edit" button at the top right. You can also add any missing directions or edit the extracted ones.
