Bit Golem Lore

An ancient and magical calculating machine named Abacus has created you (the Bit Golem) among other creations out of rock and imbued computational magic. Essentially, they are all "rock robots". Below are some of his creations that you may still face in the dungeons today as you try to escape Abacus' wrath.

Effigy Golem: Thought to have been created before Bit Golem, since it is much simpler, this stationary monolith is imbued with fire rune and targets enemies within range. Typically, they are found in groups of three, as Abacus meant for them to be foot soldiers.

Tiki Golem: A large, stationary golem resembling a tiki. It charges up its fire rune and expels it through its pores in all directions. This makes it a great room defense system.

Spinner Spikes: This was meant to be a formidable defense automaton, as it can move quickly and grind enemies up with deadly spikes around its circumference. They are imbued with wind rune (speed).

Knight of Hearts: These are Abacus' first attempt at making a stone creature with emotions. It ended up only knowing passionate combat, and now they are used as maverick guards that swiftly pounce on enemies. They are imbued with fire rune...and love.

Giant Golem: A golem reinforced with earth rune. It was one of the first humanoid creations of Abacus, meant to protect entryways to important rooms and treasures.

Ice Giant Golem: A slightly upgraded version of the regular Giant Golem, it has water rune frozen into ice, which is thrown from its club when attacking. Be very careful around ice.

Droplet Golem: These water rune foes are durable and are able to bend small amounts of H2O to their liking. Don't be fooled by their smooth demeanor: they pack a punch.

Wind Breaker: This was meant as a repellant for entry rooms in Abacus' dungeons. If you're lucky enough to have wind rune like this cool rock, you may even get health from the breeze.

Will-O-Wisp: A ghastly orb of legends even from the Over World (our world), the earth rune imbued energy of the swamps will follow you and eventually pop!

Colossus (Helios): One of the tallest golems, this fire-imbued sentinel strikes mightily with a large sword. Abacus was allegedly inspired by the Colossus at Rhodes and attempted to create a formidable guardian to his lair.

Gargoyle Golem: While gargoyles are usually meant to drain water off of rooftops, this golem is actually imbued with mostly wind rune. It uses its rune and giant stone wings beating furiously to pull an enemy into its talons. Abacus meant for these to be tactical guardians to his abode by staying still in the darkness and swooping down upon enemies within sight.

Telegel: A portmanteau of "teleport" and "angel", this was one of Abacus' earliest attempts at programming emotions into a creation such that it could sense enemy reactions and better combat them in battle strategy. It is imbued with water, as it senses the enemy and teleports to a strategic location and expels water rune in all directions.

Goldron: Abacus is said to have found dinosaur bones, and fashioned this creature with gold armor for tanking sieges. It is earth rune imbued, which gives it a hearty dose of health and defenses. Its armor is not lethal to the touch, however.

Advanced Spike Spinner: Second time's the charm (or wind rune). Coated in razor-sharp spikes that eject and with better agility, this boss is certainly an upgrade to the common Spike Spinner.

Wind Dragon: When Abacus needs aerial defense, he turns to the fierce rock-and-bone dragons to protect his hoard.

Trident Golem: One of the strongest wielders of water rune, the Trident Golem commands the seas and its wave bursts from its tines makes it one of the toughest bosses.

Lava Golem: Abacus' second form is said to be inspired by this dangerous primordial ooze. Watch your step, it is a master at fire rune crafts.

Vine Monster: Out of the earth rune natural forces sprouts...lots of vines. Take care not to trip on the criss-crossing patterns, there are thorns.

Abacus: They say every five dungeons he challenges a worthy opponent, in different forms. Eventually he arrives with his full might, ready to rear his beak, rally his army, and conquer the Over World.
