Let's make an impact together.

I am a soft-matter experimentalist. I obtained my Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, India. For my first postdoctoral position, in 2021 I joined the Physics department at Clark University. My research interests lie in the fascinating world of soft materials, which include a broad range of materials that exhibit unique properties due to their soft and flexible nature. In 2024, I joined biomedical engineering department at OSU, USA,

My current research focuses on the locomotion of C. elegans and its neurobiology. Additionally, I am investigating how energy is stored in twisted filament bundles and beating patterns of magnetized soft filaments. I am adaptive and eager to apply my knowledge and skills from soft matter experiments to explore research questions in the fields of biophysics and biomedical sciences.

Research Experiences

Movement of Bacteria inside microfluidic chamber: Microscopy imaging, making microfluidics

➢ Dynamics of active polymer like aquatic worm Lumbriculas variegatus inside confined chamber. Studied the mechanisms that drive the organism to explore their surroundings in search of escape routes.

➢ Burrow of soft robots in water-saturated sediment. Forms and speed of the robot and burrow effect on medium fluidization. Discovered how the robot’s ability to swim and burrow is affected by its body movements, sediment height, and the strength of magnetic field it is subjected to.

➢ Structures of twisted and braided soft filament bundles. Understanding mechanical properties of twisted filament bundles and elastic energy storage in terms of twisting.

➢ Dynamics of Marangoni surfer “Camphor boat” moving through a crowded environment, the study of first passage statistics.

➢ Synchronisation and other non-linear dynamical phenomena in electrochemical Mercury Beating Heart systems and electronic Chua oscillators.
