In a major move to digitize social welfare payments, the Government of Pakistan has launched a new payment method for BISP 8171 in 2025. This change is aimed at solving long-standing issues like long queues, biometric failures, and agent deductions that poor families — especially women — have faced for years.
According to Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), the government is shifting to a direct bank transfer model for all eligible beneficiaries under BISP 8171.
Here’s what the new system includes:
✅ Women will receive their payments directly into personal bank accounts
🚫 No more middlemen or hidden deductions
🏧 Payments can be withdrawn anytime from ATMs or bank branches
🔐 Every transaction is digitally tracked for full transparency
This is a massive improvement from the previous method, where thousands of women had to stand in lines for hours, often facing technical and social hurdles.
